Ather Grid:
We’ll be setting up Ather Grid points in each city, before the deliveries begin.
Payment and financing options:
We’ll open the payment window roughly a couple of weeks before we deliver your scooter. Financing options and Ather One subscription plans for the 450X will be announced in October.

Announcing the Ather Grid brand partnerships in your city

We are excited to finally share some news that has been in the works for sometime!
Today, we’re glad to be announcing brands that we’ve tied up with for Ather Grid points. We have been partnering with brands directly to unlock multiple locations when we need to install Ather Grid points in a particular location. For example, our partnership with Little Italy allows us to install Grid points based on the need at locations owned by Little Italy in Pune & Ahmedabad.

What’s next?
These are brand alliances we’ve signed, which means we have access to their locations for installation of Ather Grid points where needed, and feasible. We’ll confirm which specific locations are getting the first Ather Grid points before we start sales in each city.
When you get your hands on your very own Ather 450X or Ather 450 Plus in the above cities, a few locations will be live, so you can make use of the charging infrastructure from Day 1.
Installations will happen over the next few months across all the above cities. We’ll keep you posted here regularly as and when these Grid points are live! We are just getting started with the expansion of Ather Grid across the cities we’re launching in, and would love more suggestions on where you want to see a fast charger for your Ather scooter!

Okay. So I have been trying to get all the updates on financial products, Ather One, timelines - basically everything that you need to know before the payment window opens for your pre-order. The good news is that I have them. But rather than putting up one long post or sharing an FAQ link we thought it’s best shared through an Open House format. And this time, “soon” has a date.
We are hosting an virtual Open House this Saturday, 17th October for everyone who’s interested to know about the financial products, timelines etc. even before it goes live on the website - mostly by the last week of this month. And here’s some heads up on what you can expect.
We’re pulling the plug on battery subscription
A bunch of reasons. With the onslaught of COVID and the prevailing economic conditions, external partners don’t have the ability to support new business models. Further, with clarifications coming in from the government around the policy, this now requires fresh work with our partners. Continuing to make it work meant pushing delivery timelines and that’s something we decided to not mess with. It’s also true that the response to the product wasn’t overwhelming, and there’s resistance to perpetual payments and partial ownership. We’ll talk more about it in the Open House.

We have an update on the opening of full payments for the Ather 450X and the Ather 450 Plus. This time around we want to crunch the time between full payment and delivery day. Also, the reason why we have planned for this day to be as close as possible to the start of delivery.
Keeping this intent, we are opening full payments in Bengaluru and Chennai for the first set of pre-orders on 31st October 2020. But there are few regulatory formalities that are pending and should complete in the next few days, and the full payments for Ahmedabad, Pune, Mumbai, and Hyderabad will open post that. We’ll share an update in the next few days with revised dates on when the full payment windows would open for the other cities.

We’re super glad to start the process of order-processing and delivering the Ather 450X and the Ather 450 Plus to all of you enthusiasts! Full payments have opened for the first set of pre-orders in Bengaluru and Chennai.
We’ve also launched a revamped order portal to ensure you can keep tabs on the status of your order, get quick answers to questions you might have, and purchase subscription plans.
Since a lot of you are new to this process and experience, here’s how it’ll work:
For Bengaluru and Chennai
- You’ll get an email letting you know that your full payment window is open
- Head over to your dashboard at app.atherenergy.com/dashboard, to begin the process of completing your payment.
- You can upload the required documents and choose your insurance provider, financing options, subscription plans, vehicle colour etc
- Track the status of your purchase at every step. You’ll also get updates over email once the process moves to the next stage.
- We’ll reach out to after you complete the payment to schedule your delivery date, and get your preference on installation of the Ather Dot.
Note:
- The full payments will be opened in batches, based on availability of stocks. We’ll be opening new batches for payment every few days.
- Your Series 1 benefits would be valid for one month from the date of your full payment opening since it is a Limited Edition version.
- For other cities, we’ll share an outline of the process in the coming days

Hitting refresh on the referral program
Hey folks,
The referral program is pretty popular among our community, with lots of users collecting credits by referring their friends and family. We’ve made it simpler, and added benefits!
Now, for every Ather 450X / Ather 450 Plus / Ather 450 referral you make, you get credits worth Rs. 3500, and your friend gets credits worth Rs. 2500.
Bonus for the early set of customers who referred their friends before 31st Oct 2020, Where you were eligible for Rs.1500 credits (1st and 2nd referral), Rs.2500 credits (for 3rd and 4th referral), Rs.3000 credits (5th referral onwards), we’re giving you a flat Rs.3500 credits.
So, if you referred 4 friends to Ather 450X, you should now see Rs.3500x4 = Rs.14000 credits instead of Rs.1500X2 + Rs.2500X2 = Rs.8000 credits. You can check your updated credits on the Referral Hub - https://app.atherenergy.com/user/referral
Additionally, the gifts at 3rd and 5th referrals such as Bluetooth earphones, merchandise, or accessories that you were eligible for, would still be applicable if your friends go through with the purchase. We’ll ship these to you early next year.
The credits will become available for you to redeem when the ones you referred complete their payments. The credits can be used to purchase Ather subscription plans (from Jan-Feb 2021), vehicle accessories and merchandise in the future.

Opening of full payments in Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad
Hey folks!
Finally, the update that all of you have been waiting for! Full payments will open starting today in Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad. Our dealer partners in these cities are gearing up to start delivery of the Ather 450X and 450 Plus in your city. Do note that the process would be different from that in Chennai and Bengaluru.
Here’s how it’ll work:
- Depending on the availability of stock and your pre-order ID, the retail partner would reach out to you over the phone to get your preference on the colour and variant before completing the payment. This will be done in batches to ensure that the payment to delivery timeline is as short as possible.
- In case your preferred colour isn’t available in-stock, the retail partner will share the tentative timeline of vehicle availability.You are free to make the payment now, if you are okay to wait for the colour of your choice to become available.
- Once your prefered colour is in stock and you have made the payment, the insurance and registration processes will begin.
- The dealer will reach out to you on charger installation preferences and also schedule a date for the delivery.

As we’re expanding into multiple cities through different dealer networks, the process for transferring/swapping an order between cities is different. We understand that some of you want the Series 1 benefits as well as priority in delivery. Here’s what you can do:
- To change the city for an order, you can make a new pre-order in the new city.
- Cancel your old pre-order. You will be able to get a full refund of the pre-order amount. Reach out to the dealer partner in your city after you make the new pre-order, if you’re ready to make the payment. Based on available stocks of your preferred colour, the dealer might be able to help you complete the purchase sooner.
- If you want to transfer Series 1 benefits, you can reach out to Ather Customer Care along with details of the person willing to give up their benefits and we’ll initiate the transfer of benefits.
