Discussion on Accessories

Okay, I will mention this specifically.

The funny thing is that when I went with my friend to service his Ather, his pads were worn out, so SC people were changing them. I looked at the pads and mentioned to them that they have uneven wear, so check the calliper. They said, “It’s fine” and did nothing. I wonder if they follow the checklist Ather has given them for every periodic service.

Ather should consider selling Ather™ Junction Box

I have the official floor mat and throttle cover! Having used it for a while, here’s my experience:

Received the Floor Mat for free more than a year ago, back when I was still enthusiastic about Ather. It has held up well. One day, dogs took off the mat and bit off parts of it. That’s the only damage I’ve had on the mat:

The slipping issue I mentioned has been fixed now. It is pretty grippy and stays in place 99% of the time. Only times I’ve had it come off recently was when I almost trip over it (because it has a small lip because of the thickness), but that’s very rare and the quality has been great.

I feel it attracts dust though. Maybe it’s because of the dry weather but stepping even a small step on the road and keeping it on the mat makes it dirty. And I keep my bag on the floor so that’s annoying.

But honestly, if you are thinking about it, and don’t mind the price, it works as it should ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

About the Throttle Grip, I’ve used it for almost a year at this point and I suppose the installation was done well at my SC, because I haven’t had any cracks or breaks. It feels better than the stock grip (which feels sticky and very thin), but I’d say be aware that it feels gross and wet during rains or after a wash. It is spongy and absorbs liquids easily.

If you use your Ather a lot, I’d say it makes it nicer and a more usability improvement than the floor mat.

For the seat cover, I’ve got the Gen3 seat which is incompatible. Unfortunately more uncomfortable but fortunately the Halo fits in, sometimes you gotta lose to win

Why pay 7k if it’s not signature sound by harman kardon!! Plus it’s a 1000% pakka they gonna take some Chinese speaker units and brand it as Ather …

I assume rest features remain the same ?

Harman is that only. The only thing we are paying for is the branding. I don’t think there’s any fancy hardware involved!

Maybe just some basic EQ tuning at best

He mentioned the v2 or the next batch of helmet won’t come with those branded one’s

Now if harman is taken out where’s the High cost !

Ather have invested big on R&D from prototyping to end part so to recover that they need to sell a lottt of them

But they were greedy i suppose

Now only v2, will make it or break it…

We few months ahead of that, Probably We need to search for Dr. Strange to Reverse Time

Because I don’t see anyone interested selling the Halo :innocent:

Got this put on, its ₹100 for the rear cover front still is in R&D as per them. Will test and update about it’s usefulness.

The worst part is they charge you labour on that; whereas you’re the labour there, cause you’re the first one ever to instruct the technician until you end up frustrated and finally fix it on yourself: that’s when the guy thanks you for showing him the right technique.
