I have been projecting the good range based on how much range I could extract from 100-55. I didn’t get much chance to test 50-0, but I am aware that the drop below 50% would be much quicker.
My recent experiences confirms it and the range projection is very unreliable.
Two weeks back, when my brother-in-law took the vehicle, 24 kms drained the battery from 60-0 and he had to push the last half km. The last 30% didn’t fetch even 10 km. I was surprised and I didn’t believe that at first.
Last week, I had 65% SoC. With my usual ride, I would be able to get 20 km before sub-40. But, just in 15 kms, SoC dropped below 40%.
Today, I started the vehicle with 39% SoC. My usual ride, known route. But, I was consuming double the juice than usual. Just for 8 kms, I consumed 14%, much much higher than my usual.
Learnings:
Need to check the battery health from service centre. Anyone knows the procedure to do this?
Don’t believe the range below 50%. Consider only 50% of the usual efficiency.
For whatever reason the 50-0 used to be around 10 km less than 100-50. But, that is becoming 20 km less. I am doubting that it is indication of battery health going down but not able to see it.
Even if the battery ageing is the reason, the range prediction should handle it well than showing over-estimation and under-delivering.
No, I have raised a ticket to check the procedure. If no response, will go to service center directly, to get it checked (as I remember few people mentioning that they got it from service center).
Just came back from 35k service and was told battery degraded by ~15%. However, the ride back home gave 28wh efficiency and traveled 65km with 98% battery before battery shutdown in the middle of the ride. By this calculation, the battery degradation is above 25%. Should breach the 30% mark in next 10k kms. Will company look into this calculations or they just reject replacement claim by 15% to 20% battery degradation from the SoH data on the dashboard?
@abhishek.balaji@tarun - Is it true that I have to give my scooter to service center for 30 to 50 days just for battery repair? I thought they will give new battery when battery SoH goes under 70%.
