Guys if you are planning for Ather then I recommend to wait for Simple One as it has both OLA and Ather qualities and reviews of Simple One by reputed Moto Bloggers is quite impressive at final stage of production. I cancelled Ather.

finally got a glimpse of new dash for base model from few YT shorts,seems like VCU has been changed which limits its features else its same touchscreen as pro.The UI looks painfull to look at than minimalistic,from expecting themes or use of remaining hardware like wifi to this makes we worry about Ather’s future in front of iqube and s1 air

For people who don’t want to pay 14k, you end up giving bad charging experience for life of scooter.
For people who wants to buy, they end up having 2 chargers whether they like or not.
Both are not nice. Contrasting to what typical Ather would have done.

I guess they had to do this change to increase their profit margins & to claim the subsidy. Its a very typical corporate move. They should have atleast provided an exchange option with the slow charger
And this is valid upto this month only. From May onwards only 250 Watt is available with both models and no Dot charger. Dot/Portable have to be purchased additionally. I am seriously looking forward to see sales figure of Ather for next quarter.

Also once the Simple One will arrive in the market and if it performed well then Ather will understand how big this blunder had been proven for them.

I asked the same question. But unfortunately no such option. I somehow feel that will happen after feedback from customers.
Saying Go green and having 2 chargers of same size and same need is not good.

You keep claiming about the SimpleOne arriving and many reviewers giving rave reviews. I don’t see them fulfilling their commitments, just pushing release dates.

umm you arent getting fast charger isnt for 14k itself so you wont have 2 chargers,its an upgrade over 250w to choose while buying.The charger itself is 20k+
SimpleOne is now a joke in the entire EV community. they seem to be making fake promises, overcommitting (and probably underdelivering soon).
I have had 2 people I know cancel their SimpleOne booking and buy a 450x in the last 6 months.
Either way, I hope they aren’t a hoax. Ather needs more competition to push the company forward. Currently they’re moving too slow.

moving slow? i think backwards one of my friend fell in love with my Ather 450x gen 3 but after hearing the price of 1.82L with fast charger he picked up S1 pro for 1.4L and I tested the S1 for first time and its not even that bad the quality is much better than what i have heard and S1 keeps pulling after 60kmph

I’m not going to fully trust the launch date here. But does anyone know if Ather complies with Automotive Industry Standards 156 amendment 3?

removing features, making the UI uglier, maps buggier. sure the powertrain part is sorted, but i thought Ather boasted about being a ‘smart’ scooter 
the MapMyIndia navigation on Ola is very well sorted. that is how Ather should’ve been in the first place. but they’re busy reinventing the wheel (an Android version of Google Maps).
considering the number of scooters Ola sells vs the number of scooters w issues, i don’t think build quality is a concern. with that many scooters on the road, there are bound to be failures in many. great to see Ola proactively recalling and replacing faulty parts.
i now recommend Ola to all of my friends planning to buy an E2W. the value for money part is too much in favour of Ola.

looks like even Okaya claims to be ‘one of the first’ to do that 
i don’t think the certification holds a significant meaning towards safety except being a certification. eitherway, i trust Ather batteries to be safe enough if not better than the rest. if someone’s went through the blogs, old videos of testing they’ll know what i’m talking about. somewhere on the internet, there’s videos of Ather engineers testing the packs by intentionally short circuiting, puncturing etc and it was a delight to watch.

No, only Simple One claim to have that certificate till now. No other have that compliance
