Introducing our revamped product offerings | The Ather 450X and Pro Pack

those who have availed the connect features free for 3 years… It may be ok for them to pay and continue availing those features… But for recent buyers who have bought the vehicle for experiencing these features of the scooter… It may not be that easy to digest this…

Please note that, all the previous 450x buyers also paid for the performance upgrade… in my humble opinion…if company is taking a bold step it should be fair for everyone…

If the announcement was like “connect pro features is available for 3 years to all 450x owners who have taken performance pack/ pro pack” then no one would have complained here…

Kindly note that, all 450x previous buyers paid for the performance pack (like the new 450x with pro pack buyers). In addition to that, previous buyers have also paid for the chargers… Which is available for free now…

As u said correctly, it’s the company to decide what steps to be taken… Some of the recent buyers are just trying to highlight the injustice which is happening to them. So kindly request members of this forum to support us🙏.

No one is giving you any advice. Just shouting out here on the forum isn’t helping anyone. No one said EVs are cheap. It’s a conscious decision to buy when we all know the tech is getting cheaper by the day.

I have like a ton of questions.

  1. What is the charger speed of the 450x model without a pro pack?
  2. What is the max speed in 450x without pro?
  3. What is the fast charger speed(watt) in the pro pack?
  4. When will Nungambakkam space in Chennai have a 450x without a pro will have a demo scooter for a test ride?

You did leave so many comments in the forum, Did i come and tell you what might be the outcome. As i said some of us are just leaving the frustration here. I don’t think that’s a problem unless Ather has something.

This has been happening every time a new model/ pricing has been introduced. Yes, I did reply a couple of times & yet I have not targeted anyone in particular. Its a community forum and no need to remove your frustration on other members just becoz they have their own views.

See, I’m new here and i didn’t see any article or condition that restrict members from venting frustration (if it exists please let me know I’m happy to take down my comments). As i know i did not use any foul language or insult anyone. All i did was quote what happened to me. If community forum is to twerk and agree what Ather does and then I’m sorry my friend i don’t agree with it.

And to add to the list, here is one more. How would the Wrap mode on 450X without pro give 105 KMs range, when normally it is only quoted to have 65 KMs of range?

It depends on the way you drive. The quote shown on the dashboard is only an estimated range. Race/ Warp mode will give you the highest range if the throttle is efficiently used.

so we get Warp mode on a Base scooter, that would be a letdown for some as people always want to squeeze the maximum out of the battery pack. and not all want to put on warp mode and go weeeeee.

Also it puts the quickest throttle response even while riding in city traffic. It is going to take a while to get used to for the first time really riders in the base model.

I haven’t learnt to use words like crib, gun point to trigger somebody. I get something on my face i give it back the same way. If you think what i said is insult it’s the same for me. The conversation was between me and Ather you proactively joined the conversation and i think you can’t always expect everyone to be in good mood. But i apologize if you felt targeted. You can always chose to ignore all my comments. I pretty much agree that my comments are distasteful!

Agreed. Ride modes are to help you control the aggressive acceleration.

If there are no modes, it’s upto the rider to get 40 km range or 145 km range.

I think it’s deliberately putting a thought in the user’s mind that with warp mode the range will be super compromised and he won’t get the proper range what is advertised 146km. So they will buy it with pro pack :person_shrugging:

Just a thought. Did anyone think the same that if 450x can’t be converted into 450x pro in later stage and it has nearly none features, then what is the point to reserve/divide same capacity of battery as of 450x pro. You can easily provide more battery capacity to motor and increase the range of 450x. At least one USP for 450x.

yea even providing same screen and hardware jst locking away all the features and color by software doesnt make sense they could have easily used display like what we get in hero electric scooters and saved money on that

@abhishek.balaji i purchased the Ather 450x version in the month of october 2023 (bengalore) when the price were around 165k and during feb 2023 i paid an additional 5k for extended battery and now suddenly you are dropping the price of the vehcile just to comply with government EV policy of not selling charger separately.

Can you please tell me what are you guys doing to refund the money for the customer who has purchase the 450x gen 3 prior to this change ?

So let me try and understand something. You had a Plus and X model earlier and the difference bw them was bluetooth, warp mode, hill assist. Now this was actually the same machine but the above features were just locked out via software and was being offered for 20k less which in my opinion is a fair compromise.

Now they realise that their product is good but priced more than the competition (OLA) so instead of designing a new and cheaper vehicle from scratch which was rumored and what they should have done like the s1 air… they decided lets just take the same machine and choke it as much as you can via software. I mean seriously, 15 hours to charge a vehicle? That’s the biggest joke ever in the entire EV space. How exactly are you planning to make consumers move to electric with such a move and mind you these vehicles also do not have access to the fast charging grid so you have only one option. Like what type of marketing move is this ? :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Instead you should have just removed plus and said we sell only one variant that is X with pro pack for 1.5lacs. Finish. You become a premium scooter and the apple of the ev industry which you always wanted to become.

Even at 98k, with 15hr charging time, no grid access, black and white UI, no app integration, which is basically an entire strip down, this vehicle still isnt the cheaper than the competition and the competition is offering far more for a lesser or same price. Just compare the specs of S1 air side by side with whatever this new variant is. You will laugh like anything.

Honestly, if you are sm1 who is planning to buy a new EV and is reading this please for the sake of you hard earned money, either buy the 450X with pro pack for 1.5L else if you dont want to spend that much go and buy the Ola S1 Air or S1 and if you dont want to get an Ola just go and buy an Activa and stay in the petrol era because honestly… you would rather stand in line at a petrol station for 10mins and pay extra money for petrol over electric than buy a vehicle which has nothing and takes 15 hours to charge.

I have heard of cutting corners to achieve something. This is like cutting your own legs to make something that is good into a joke.

This could potentially be the beginning of “the demise of Ather”.
