I don’t see how the on road price will affect, because ather does not provide any kind of insurance from them, we have to buy the insurance separately.
On road price = ex-showroom + road tax + Insurance premium. Now if mandatory insurance premium reduces, On road price also will obviously reduce…irrespective of who pays for it.
It’s a welcome change. It makes sense to remove this 5 year mandatory third party and give the choice to the consumer.
Even During resale and exchange, only vehicle condition matters not the years of insurance left.
And during renewal, insurance company gives discount for third party plus own damage not for own damage alone. Because profit is more on third party. Because hardly any claims.
Yet I dont see any changes in Ather450’s onroad price after this IRDAI announcement with effect from 1Aug’2020
@abhishek.balaji I have booked for 450x series 1 with full payment, but in the insurance why is it showing the model as 450plus???
Call up the insurance provider, seems to be a slip up at their end. their number is up there. Probably Faster resolution if they handle it.
If it was done by Ather, I think they can resolve it better.
Also, I am not sure if the official name for RTO and insurance is Ather 450 plus for both X and Plus variant?
Had similar problem…godigit replied that once vehicle is registered and rc copy is shared, they will update all the details again and send the updated policy document, as u can see it does not have engine no and chassis no
You are right that engine number and chassis number can be updated in the insurance policy after registration. But is it really possible to change the model of the vehicle itself, because I believe doing so may result in change of premium amount again leading to confusion…
Which city you selected for comprehensive package?
Anyone has Autovert customer care number? I am not able to select the city to Tumkur in their purchase page.
has anyone done further research on the other insurance providers available in the market … can you please share you findings… i have till now got a quote from HDFC which is a bit higher than digit. would love to know if other have done any research
Why is my vehicle insured as 450Plus when it is a 450X
Even after flagging the issue that in my insurance quote taken from Ather you have mentioned it as 450Plus not as 450X it hasn’t been rectified nor I have received any clarification. I had put separate mails to Ather and your insurance partner, also visited the Experience center yesterday but still there is no clarification. Can anyone please help me with this issue
There is no tie-up with HDFC ergo and Ather, but I’ve seen HDFC in action when 6 months back I had a rear-end collision, the 3 side panels rear tail light was completely broken, Ather quoted around 12k for replacements, I didn’t had bumper to bumper insurance, the only normal one, HDFC paid me instantly after depreciation, so claiming insurance won’t be a problem. Keep in mind to buy Bumper to bumper insurance with 0 depreciation, so you can enjoy all benefits, Autovert provides only 1-year full insurance and remaining as 3rd party comprehensive so, it’s not worth buying at all unless you tell them you want full insurance.
exactly everyone has to buy 5+5 comprehensive insurance with zero dep, buying what Ather provides makes no sense.
Can’t we buy the 1 plus 5 now and in the coming years just top up with own damage insurance… I haven’t been able to get 5+5 quote from any of the websites …
It’s no more mandatory to buy 5years Third party. Just buy the 1 year comprehensive insurance. 5 hears comprehensive is not really advantageous IMO
+1 to What Hemant said.
My first policy was thru GoDigit which had 1 Year Comprehensive + 5 year 3rd party. This year, when I tried to renew, I compared Acko, GoDigit and HDFC.
Overall, discounts were provided only for comprehensive plan. I believe Insurance companies gets good profit on 3rd party component only as hardly anyone claims that.
In fact, I had call with GoDigit to show them their 1 Year Comprehensive was same as 1 Year Personal damage policy which literally means Third Party is just for namesake.
IMO, this 1+5 mandatory by Govt helped Insurance companies than the intended.
I feel, it is better to go for 5+5 if your insurance providers accepts (like HDFC) or go with 1+1.
Go digit doesn’t have option of 1+1. What have u found other than go digit … can u share prices
I tried only during renewal. For new purchase, I didn’t try as I went with GoDigit 1+5 as we didn’t have any option that time.
Hey, thanks for flagging this! The team identified that this was due to a technical error and would be reaching out to you to issue the correct insurance policy for your Ather 450X. This bug has been fixed since and would not occur for those completing their purchase henceforth.
If there are others as well affected by this, the team will reach out to rectify this error and reissue the correct insurance policy for the 450X
