HALO helmet is crazy EXPENSIVE!

Maybe people lot of are waiting for reviews to hit? So that they can take call whether or not to purchase this helmet since this is high end price category?

could also be a reason Ather has good adaptation in rural towns where people have banglows cause they have no issues of charging compared to flat owners as i have rarely seen Ather in mumbai but you can spot many 450 in neighbouring small towns

town people never use helmets as speeds are low so they obviuosly wont spend 13k if free half face helemt gets job done if they ever had to travel far once in a while

I agree Tho this would change the outcome once it hits the market tho coz the helmet is really nice on the inside And it it’s gonna protect my head am fine with that cost But the question will still remain the same is it to expensive I mean u could get an helmet for 6-7k for dot certified ones but since it’s bult from scratch by Ather the R&D sure gonna change the final cost sooo beting

Agree with you totally. They fail everytime at pricing. 6k to 8k is a justified price. Who’s gonna pay 26k for 2 helmets?

From what I have seen, hardware products hardly get impacted by reviews unless its very bad or there is another competing product which the consumer can purchase. Like Ather vs ola is something the consumer will read a review and decide… but for a helmet which has no competition in the market most consumers don’t need a review to decide. Its more of an instinct based decision

If business wasn’t about sales… our CEO wouldn’t have said this…

I find it very strange for Tarun to say that. I read a post long ago that they have broken even and as far as I remember correctly, Tarun did say on the Nikhil Kamath podcast that they aren’t burning now.

Pricing is key to cracking mass-market products and even with the Halo helmet discounted by 50% to 6.5K during the community day event, I hesitated for two days before making the payment. In the end, I only booked it because of FOMO.

Ather’s product lineup has also become quite confusing and cluttered over time. Initially, it was straightforward with the 450X and 450 Plus models. However, after the government mandate to include chargers in the vehicle invoice for subsidy purposes, things became more complex.

Ather introduced various versions of the 450X with different charger capacities (350 watt, 750 watt), along with the Dot charger version, and options with or without the Pro Pack. Similarly, the Rizta lineup also became convoluted with models like the Rizta S (350 watt charger), Rizta Z 2.9 (350 watt charger), and Rizta Z 3.7 (750 watt charger), each available with or without the Pro Pack.

This lack of clarity in the product lineup emerged after the introduction of Pro and Non-Pro models making it challenging for less tech-savvy customers to understand their options effectively…

Making the lineup simpler would help Ather easily explain their products to customers.

Edit1 - Removing of touch screen also doesn’t make any sense while using google maps We can’t always share our location from the app, and Ather ads says no need of taking your phone out .

I feel like Ather is taking a page out of Apple’s book—first, create a problem (removing the headphone jack), then sell the solution ( AirPods). For example, they removed the touchscreen and to sell a smart helmet with Alexa connectivity features(hope not)

Yes exactly I’ve read it and seen on the podcast too.

I would never do that even with my non smart helmet. It would definitely mess with the safety and strength of the material inside. A helmet has multiple layers with each one meant to serve a different purpose (impact absorption/distribution/integrity/comfort etc). It would also mess with the metal parts like the adjustable visor and strap locking mechanism.

Lets hope the Halo has a removable inside liner. That way it can simply be removed and washed

Y’all are not realising that we aren’t the target audience.

The target audience is the bikers community. They will snap it in the blink if it is good. And ECE.

14k isn’t worth when you are going to wear 30-45min max. But it becomes steal deal when you are going to wear it entire day.

And those bikers drive Ather? What about integration with Ather then?

Are you saying they’ve successfully developed a product not to be used with their main product?

Intigration with Ather is extra. This product will work without an Ather scooter.

I don’t think alexa will work on non Ather vehicles.

How are you planning to change the song?

There will be physical buttons.

I don’t think so yaar. From the very first reveal they have been doubling down on features like you can talk in traffic. The noise will suppress but u can hear key sounds. Harman Kardon speakers. This is a recent post by Tarun.

I think their target consumer is someone who would buy decent earbuds for listening to music during traffic and likes to take calls during driving. Sm1 like me. Because i exactly did that since the days of around the neck earphones. The bikers community would first look for an ECE certification with respect to safety (not sure, but thats what i think)

Are u sure? I didn’t see the mention of physical buttons… had to leave early during the community day so didn’t check for buttons and io
