HALO helmet is crazy EXPENSIVE!

If Ather gave

  • ECE certification
  • Sun visor
  • Support to other bikes (I am pretty sure current method of connection is limited via the Ather app, like how you connect to the scooter’s Bluetooth)
  • Physical buttons to switch songs and turn on/off
  • Replacement visors/pads
  • Replaceable shells in case of accidents

It would be a good proposition, to bikers and to regular people. An all-rounder helmet with no punches held back.

A D-ring would probably cause more inconvenience than safety (remember, so many people with helmets don’t even put on the straps :/)

I don’t think you’ve read it correctly. I absolutely have no problem with him or anyone else getting it for discount. I’m very happy for them. Its a good price.

All I’m saying is to support free speech and not to get biased coz of discounted price! I don’t want atherites to sound like those cheap food blogger who gets food for free for promoting unhygienic food. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The thing annoying me here is , instead of being constructive, like it should have this that and what not. But entire conversation is based on price , price price. They know it isn’t for everyone, that’s why buddy exits. Which is 5k.

Here is how constructive feedback looks like.

Why are you discounting the flight tickets and time value they invested attending the event? Isn’t it worth 26k.

Anyway this is my last comment on this thread :thread:.

It’s kind of niche product which is not for everybody. But everybody will have their own opinion. And this was originally announced during Gen2 release they have taken their own sweet time to develop it. Hopefully for best seem less Integration with 450X since it’s First party accessory compared to various other third party accessory is plus point.

Just like how people gawked at me when they heard the 1st generation 450 cost 1.25L.

This is not a mass market product.

Halo FAQ page is updated

Looks like even if one doesn’t own an Ather it will work with phone’s controls

And wireless charging is only compatible with Rizta. So 450 is now left out.

Takeaway.

  1. Connects to the phone.
  2. No physical buttons.
  3. For Halo bit , you need buy a new helmet+halo bit.

hi, just read a post on this forum. Multiple people were facing issues storing there full face helmets in 450’s. Is this true? I mean I can store my charger and helmet(half face) easily with a portable tyre inflator, 2 half litre coke bottles…

Also will this cause issues with halo?

According to the new FAQ… There should be no problem in storing the helmet in the boot

There was image upload in forum in which there is single yellow button in halo.

I think he meant that the Bit (mic/speaker Module) is not compatible with other brand helmets so you would need to buy the the entire helmet as a set.

Can’t buy the bit alone and expect it to snap out your existing Studds or MT helmets.

Yeah. But what is the use of having a Ather Bit. If one can’t install it in any other brand helmet. Some people might not be comfortable in using other helmets. But now the Bit and Ather helmet to be bought then there was no need to launch this standalone Bit at all.

Ather is now behaving like Apple.

Ather, can you please stop confusing people what will work or what won’t work with not? The whole product and now the accessory line up is getting really confusing.

My take on the Ather Halo :

*Love the idea of a smart helmet, waited too long for them to launch one, ordered one at the ACDC 24. *Initial thoughts on the design - Love how cool it looks, nice finish. *The audio quality is really nice, Harman Kardon, so had to be good. *It does not cancel noise, just dampens, so you can listen to music and have full awareness of your surroundings. Tried the demo, so can confirm this. *The ChitChat feature is too cool! Having my wife sit at the back, and long rides in traffic and not being able to hear what she says, will be solved! *The wireless charging is brilliant! Ofcourse only for Rizta owners for now, but you would still have a wireless dongle to charge at home, just like your smart watches. You could use a power bank with the wireless charger and still charge the Halo in the boot, for the other generation of scooters. *The integration with Ather app is what makes it very cool! Don’t know how it would work with non-Ather owners. *Pricing may seem a bit steep but, if you were to get a good standard helmet, with a intercom/audio system, it will cost you similar pricing, without wireless charging of course.

What I think it misses:

  • ECE certification (I own an Axor which has DOT, ECE & ISI, so I care about safety clearly)
  • Double D-ring
  • Chin guard protection (usually a filter for dirt/dust to not enter from chin area)
  • Sun visor

I hope Ather comes with easy swappable visors, so we can buy extra or have tinted visors too. At this moment, I would use the Halo more of city rides, but if I’m going for a longer intercity, I may trust my Axor more with the ECE certification.
