FAME Subsidy

What a misleading title! Price is not cut by upto 26k but a maximum of 4k because it already had a subsidy of 22k. The other models where the FAME2 subsidy is only 17k, the price will actually increase by 5k

As far as Ather is concerned, the subsidy for 450 will increase by 2K to 24K and the subsidy for the almost non-existent 340 will decrease by 2.8K to 19.2k

True… Earlier the news read the price is same as Activa 125. Later changed to the price is still higher than Activa 125.

So the cost of S450 now is 122000… just had a talk with customer care… on Tuesday the paperwork will be done and invoicing will start…

If true, surprised to hear coz the calculation given by govt doesn’t match. Anyways I don’t have complaints if increase in Subsidy

Here’s the good news! We have received the certification for FAME 2 compliance. The subsidy amount will now be Rs. 27,000/- . The registration under the FAME 2 scheme will get completed next week, post which we will restart invoicing. Waiting to get all these scooters on the road now

That’s a nice gift of 5k for people who had their vehicle deliveries delayed by a month!
Interested to know how the subsidy amount is 27,000 and not 24,000. FAME II says that the subsidy will be 10000 per kWh and the 450 is 2.4kWh

For the 27K subsidy, my guess is technically they have a capacity of 2.7 kwh in the battery but the BMS limits it to 2.4 kwh for longer battery life.

So they got the subsidy for the actual capacity of the battery before being limited by software.

What @rjaswant said is almost correct. We’ve always had 2.7.1 kWh of battery capacity total, but have limited it to a usable capacity of 2.4 kWh to improve the life of the battery by limiting upper and lower charging and discharging bands.

Had briefly hinted the same during an earlier discussion:

Now, since the subsidy is provided at the total battery capacity and not the usable capacity, customers get the advantage of a higher subsidy.

Well thank you @Shreyas… We want get bikes anycost this month who scheduled April and May. If you need more man power to make it. I will be happy to work on weekends as volunteer
