Battery degradation in shutdown mode

Is there a way to revert back to stack 5.0? This 6.0 is full of bugs and battery drain issues.

There’s no way. Apparantly Tarun and Swapnil thinks they push no bug updates everytime so they have made it mandatory to install the latest update automatically everytime.

Lucky if it is just 3%. It is 4-6% in my 3.7 kwh 450x version

Okay… so I just returned from the service centre and the resolution they provided is far from satisfactory for me.

The service centre guy has asked me not to shutdown the scooter :person_shrugging:t4::person_shrugging:t4::person_shrugging:t4:

He said they checked and there’s no fault in the scooter, and that i should not be shutting down the scooter. That is only to be used when they want to disconnect the power totally, for eg when they remove the battery.

I said in standby mode there wil be 5-6% battery drain and I don’t use it regularly so I shutdown the scooter. He was like, let it drain, you are not supposed to do shutdown, certainly not frequently.

As of now he has asked me to ride the Scooty for 15 20 days and not shut it down. And then may be see if things change :roll_eyes:

To be honest this issue has started for me a few days after Ather stack 6 update. So either the update has changed something, or the guys couldn’t figure out the problem and gaslighted me.

In the discussion forum anothe guy commented he had similar issue, but it was just once.

I hope more people face it so that Ather guys then take stock of it properly

Honestly, Ather stack6 has brought no new feature for 450S.

SC guys are hopeless. They have no idea about anything they rely on sending the problem via a message to people at Banglore and they relay to us whatever those people covey to them . Apart from that they don’t know anything else.

Well its true shutdown is not meant to be used frequently.

Also they have messed up with Ather 6.0 no doubt with that.

And though it sounds absurd it nay work. Maybe if you’ll use it normally the battery will get calibrated.

Yes planning to not shut it down and then go to office regularly for 2 weeks.

But then I can’t also let it be in standby always and have battery drain so that when I have to use it after say 5 or 7 days I am already down to 75% battery or less.

Their damn home charger charges so slow that it is useless for emergency

make your battery cycle fully, and then take a battery health test. Eg. charge it to full 100% then let it go to 0%, a few times a month, this will make the BMS correctly show the battery health. then if you are still facing the same issue, log in a complaint via your Ather app. Do not drain the battery more than 5 times. Li-ion batteries don’t like it when their V drops below minimum threshold

After update sometimes my 450s gets stuck at 30kmph until i stop and restart the scooter, is anyone else facing this issue?

As directed by service centre, I had not shutdown my scooter. I wasn’t using it and it was in idle state for last 3 days. Suddenly since last 2 days b the battery wasn’t gong down and was constant at 76%, even though the scooter was syncing.

Today evening I started the scooter and the dashboard started showing “Low Power Mode”

I rebooted the scooter and the boot up animation kept playing. I had to go So I turned off and took out the key.

After sometime now in app it shows 0% battery :fearful::fearful:

Will have to visit service centre tomorrow again. I bought Ather because I thought such issues of software and battery do not occur in Ather, and now after Ather Stack 6 I am facing these issues.

Instead of rebooting or shutting down just rely on charging whenever power is less.

It wasn’t supposed to go to 0 from 76% all of a sudden… and now the reboot screen won’t go away even though I have put it for charge for 2 hours.

And even though it was charging it kept showing charge as 0%

I guess its time you should get RSA and get your Ather battery checked and replaced.

And if they’re not listening to you or not providing a resolution kindly raise the issue on the app first and then go there.

So it’s official. Ather stack 6 update that was rolled out for the S models (450S and Rizta S) is buggy. The service centre guy told me that a new update is expected by end of October and until that the S models will have issues of app syncing, showing 0% charge in app and not starting up after shutdown.

What kind of testing did they perform? Is the S models so neglected by Ather?

This is wrong don’t fall for it. No one else is complaining the same. Raise the issue on Ather app .

Yours is an exceptional case I don’t see other have same problem so don’t fall for mis info or do spread the same.

You might be having a some hardware fault causing this trouble. I highly doubt the battery or the software.

Yes,correct.I own a 450s and no such issues are faced by me.Only shut down mode battery drain has increased to 2-3% after atherstack 6 update earlier it used to drain only 1%.My odo reading is aprrox 4000km in 6 months.

Got a call from the service centre, and they said rats have bitten some wires, and quoted me 8.5k rs, but said it will be covered by insurance. but honestly, 8.5k for replacing some wires ???

As for the software part, that is what they told me . While waiting at the SC, I had talked to the sales person who had sold me the scooter and she also said the same thing that another update in October will be released.

Anyways need to visit the SC tomorrow with the documents now.

The Noida SC doesn’t have a good reputation though.
