Battery degradation in shutdown mode

Yeah this is Ather. We don’t save huge money with it. Its just for good experience. The parts the service costs are high.

And 8k is less. Some people have paid much much more.

Good that they’re getting it settled through insurance.

Yeah it’s an hefty amount lucky for you covering under insurance.

As I said software issue is most unlikely when I heard about your problem. In case of software crash it would be solved once re installed. Entire update will not be messed up that was highly unlikely. The guy who gave you the info neither understood your problem nor has any idea of the solution or root cause.

Hi Sukhdeep, i am facing the same problem after the last update last month. I shutdown ad i also don’t use my bike daily. It was super before hardly lost any power. But loose 2-3℅ daily now. Ather needs to figure it out…

I have also faced the issue. I shut down my Ather at 81% 6 days back.Today I turned it on. It has come down to 75%. Previously, even if I leave it for 10 to 15 days in shut down, it will decrease by only 1%

I think 6% in 6 days battery drain is normal.

No. As I mentioned, before AS6 update, the total percentage drop will be just 1% even after 10 days.

A new update is supposed to come in October. Let’s hope it fixes many of these issues .

Bought Rizta Z 2.9 in August and started having battery drain issue in 24 hrs there will be battery drop of 5-6%. And when i came across a situation where i had to go out of station so i used shut down mode thinking i had shut down the scooter so after a week there will be hardly 3-4 % drop. But to my surprise when i came back there was a battery loss of 25% in 6 days. When I complained about it to SC they were like its common every EV lose 5-6% daily Ather SC are very arrogant. I am working in Automotive industry and that too on EV projects so i know how battery drains and 4-5 % on daily basis is very huge. It affects the range. As my daily driving is not that much and owing it to daily battery drain i am getting only 50-60km of usable range.

If after every update the bikes drain rate is increasing than the Ather is doing it on purpose just like Apple did on there iphones couples of years back. Increase in Drain rate will ultimately consume charge cycles over which battery warranty are based. Ather is forcing people to charge more frequently and burn the battery cycles.

7days old Rizta losing 4% each day(24hrs). This is too much. Not expected from a brand new vehicle.

What do you mean?

Are you using the Vehicle or Out station and The Vehicle is simply standing somewhere??

Hey I have an Ather 450x gen 4 and I was out on vacation for like 8 days forgot to shutdown the vehicle. I have tried charging the vehicle but the charger tries to charge(the fan from the charger continuously turns on and off) and I tried restarting the scooter too and it didn’t work Any other way to turn on? (Lights turn on and turn off)

Its been 17 Hrs, Did you find a Way or still need support?

Simply Connect the Charger to Vehicle for sometime, because it will take some time like 10-15 mins to Charge 1% from Deep Discharge. The Same happened to our Rizta last week

I mean like yesterday night after a ride I parked it and by next day night (24 hrs fully parked) the battery drops by 4-5%.

This sounds reasonable bro

@tarun Come Back :triumph:

4-5% battery drop over a day is normal.itbhappens because it is a connected scooter so things like gps etc keep working in the background
