Are we expecting too much from Ather Energy 
Past 10 Yrs They never changed the Technology of Displays and How come we expect a Ui without Touchh Screen Ability to a Vehicle with Touch Screen.
Eod They will give Access to 450sssss but They will remove the Touch Access but The Twist is not all the 450ssssss have Switch Gear Hardware

@smridhi.kalati After repeated attempts of installation trials, finally installed the update. But after installation, I am unable to use the ping option and Bluetooth is not getting connected to phone.

Excellent and commendable job Ather team,
Basic features like ping my scooter and live location sharing should in theory not have any trouble working with 450S as it shares the same hardware with 450X, Rizta and Apex.
If location, maps and Bluetooth phone connection works on my 450S there is no reason why ping my scooter and live location sharing won’t work.
Yet purposefully not allowing the features on a model only a year old proves lackluster commitment from Ather.
What’s the point of expensive Pro Pack if vehicle software update cycle is less than what some cheap Chinese phones offer nowadays which is at least offer 2 years of major android updates.
Not having this features will not have any impact on my ownership of 450S, but it would have been a good addition and was expected as I shelled out for the Pro Pack whose whole premise is software features that will enhance the experience and new features will be received as part of whole connected ecosystem but alas it is nothing but marketing BS and is only reserved for specific models.
I won’t be surprised if when a new model launches even the Rizta will be excluded from updates after just 1 year claiming some BS excuse.

450s hardware is not the same as 450X. The deepview display uses a custom SoC, I think in later revisions they reverted it back to Snapdragon.

Hey, ping my scooter will be available for 450S model as well. They will be pushing an OTA update for that.
Live location sharing won’t be available for 450S though

@smridhi.kalati @rohit.dalvi even after the most recent update, my rizta is not syncing with the mobile app for hours at once, because of which features like ping my scooter aren’t working. I had raised a ticket on the app regarding this sync issue on 29th September, and still i haven’t received any response apart from the initial troubleshooting guide, post which the ticket was closed and i had to re-open it

This does seem a bit unusual, Kazim. But don’t worry—at Ather, we’re all about getting things sorted for you. Just drop us a DM with the Case ID of your concern raised on the Ather app? If you haven’t yet, use the “I have an issue” option in the Support tab.

And exactly what does deep view inverted lcd display have to do with ping my scooter and live location sharing now coming to 450S.
Even a 10-year-old kid can understand that if your scooter has maps feature and has internet connectivity then ping my scooter and live location sharing will work irrespective of the irrelevant point of yours stating the type of display used.

thats cause the display on 450x is a tablet with a snapdragon proccessor running android for which Ather can code these features on
for 450s its a lighter proccessor just enough to handle normal tasks for deep view display and few features replicated as 450x but underneath its completely different as even maps are from mapmyindia I think compared to google on 450x and rizta that allows live location sharing

Where did I mention display technology here ? Ather did mention they were using a custom CPU/Processor for 450s. Apparently its just a downclocked version of the already slow Snapdragon 212. Ping my Scooter and Live Location is probably not possible because it might not even be using Android.
You should have known this while buying 450s. It was a replacement for 450+ and if you take a look at some posts of latter users, you’ll know how much Ather gives a crap about lower end models.

Hey @shubhammpawar97 this was confirmed by the Ather team first on the forums here during an AMA and more recently again by their team when I reached out to them over social media.
And Smridhi has said “this update” meaning the current OTA update. This does not mean the ping my scooter feature.

Yea but even for intercity trip planner, call decline with message, it says upcoming only. They don’t update their websites as fast as other companies do.
