Ather Rizta | From our family to yours

SmartEcho does impact by the Update, as it is controlled by program which gets updated on update. In my case when I am facing the issue, even in full throttle, it is taking too much time to reach 40 kms, I think 1-2 mins. so your suggest to try throttle after 40kms is impossible :frowning: with that speed…

I had a pathetic experience with Ather, Koramanagala showroom. I had been consistently given false promises by the sales person and the manager. I did not see any escalation matrix published on Ather website. I have tried to escalate it to Ather, but still no luck.

I observed following flaws in rizta after experiencing 450x with 3.5 years of ownership i feel Ather has chance to correct these things in rizta so that customers will be happy and satisfied purchasing rizta.

  1. Dashboard update frequency - speedometer stucks and updates after few seconds like speed showing 50, 42, 38 like this while decreasing or increasing its not real time update.

  2. No option to turn off indicator sounds.

  3. Bluetooth Name is showing as Ather 450X instead of Rizta.

  4. Horn is very very low, if you are wearing a helmet and in a heavy traffic, it is not audible to rider itself. How can it be audible to front vehicle? If you are trying to honk at a car then absolutely it will not heard by them.

  5. Indicator sounds are also not audible, the speaker is giving very low volume output.

  6. UI is very neat and clean, but can be improved a lot.

  7. May be in future if Ather can bring multiple modes like 450x through a software update, it would be really great.

The document storage function on rizta dashboard is useless as of now, since it does not give us an option to view the stored documents in full screen mode. The documents can’t be seen as it is on the dashboard, @smridhi.kalati can we please get a fix for this in the next update? To view the documents in a full screen mode?

Ather is becoming like ola day by day for not listening to customers problems and not taking the feedback from customers. We are just purchasing bikes from you, because of the trust we have on Ather and the timely response you gave us these many years.

But sorry to say, from last 6 months to 1 year we customers feel that Ather is not listening to customers problems nor taking any feedbacks on ota updates you release to bikes.

Earlier we used to have such a community, for every release there used to be a separate thread and everyone who is responding in the thread with the issues observed in OTA released. And the issues listed by customers is acknowledged and taken care in next ota or through a patch update.

But now community managers are not even creating a threads for each OTA release, and they are not even considering feedback or suggestions from users. Atleast they are even not responding to owners when they have issues which require an answer from your team.

Now Ather is growing and also released Rizta and customers are increasing day by day for both 450 series and Rizta series. So i suggest community managers to maintain separate threads for both series each and every update release and also they should obtain feedback or issues from users and acknowledge them and communicate with development team to fix those.

We are just getting updates, as if the updates were being released for name sake to showcase your features are available in bike.

I hope you will atleast maintain these standards otherwise Ather also will become another ola for not considering customers problems or resolving them.

Profit is Okay but I can’t sell Egg and Rice for Egg Fried Rice. If I give em separate which customer will gimme Profit ya. Ather needs to give Good Customer Service first to gain Profit. Simple being Greedy will not bring Any Profit other than Law suits :pensive:

Ather Rizta Issues

1 Auto hold has issues. It doesnt engage all the time

  1. Floor board is bend

  2. Rattling sound due to some loose parts or fixture.

  3. Intermittent power loss during rides.

  4. Ignition Key had issues(lot of friction). Service centre fixed using WD40.

  5. Seat cover coming off at the edge.

(We could talk about it on the forum, but is Ather taking our feedback seriously. If not, we should start posting on social media.)

Ather Rizta brakes are weak, me and my family don’t feel safe. I’m almost sure that we could retro fit the 450’s 3 piston brembo set to increase braking power.

Could Ather enable that option for safety of it’s customer. or release a brake upgrade option for Rizta to provide 3 piston brembo set for Rizta please?

Nope, Rizta brakes are pretty decent. I had to brake in an emergency and they worked just fine.

In a busy city with bumper to bumper traffic, and a*holes riding everywhere, the brakes are pretty weak. Brake performance is not measured only in panic braking scenario, it’s how confidently you could stop the vehicle, the brake feel, bite of the brakes, progressive retardation and a lot more. Check out some PowerDrift video from Shumi, you’ll know the intricacies of it.

Rizta is poor in these scenarios, compared to a 8 year old Activa with only drum brakes.

Not sure if it was due to cost cutting measure, the Rizta is pretty premium, the brakes feel under confident. A family scooter is not only rode by teenagers, it’s rode by aged people as well. You demand that confidence of braking every single time.

I barely go fast with family not more than 50km but in emergency situation only I use brakes else most of the time I use magic twist with regenerative breaking. it works like charm and it helps. But magic twist with break might require when you are driving between 100% to 90% as there is no regenerative breaking.

I did a brake test demo with all combinations.

  1. Magic Twist only
  2. Both Brakes
  3. Magic Twist + Front Brakes
  4. Magic Twist + Rear Brakes
  5. Magic Twist + Both Brakes

The order above is from weakest to strongest in application. My test was done in practical driving situation, 20 30 40 kmph.

After I concluded my test, I sort of figured out the combination of brakes I’ll use in my city traffic usecase.

May be it’s not that evident in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad or modern metros where it’s a bit rolling traffic. I’m talking about cities where traffic is slow and it suddenty stops in front you. The vehicles are always very close to each other. This is at 20 - 30 kmph.

Yes, the brakes work, if you sqeeze them a bit.

I suddenly realized where did I felt a similar feeling in the past, where it put me off and I didn’t buy the bike… it was the first TVS NTORQ. It had similar brakes. The brakes needs sqeeze.

Whereas in my R15 (not comparable to rizta) brake works the moment you press them even slightly, you don’t have to fight the brakes. There’s no reverse push from the brakes to make you let go. You press and the entire force is transfered to the calliper.

I’m not sure, something doesn’t work well in Rizta. It’s either the mechanics of it, or the calliper itself, not sure. The 450 series doesn’t have this issue. I would say it’s inferior parts or calibration.

It’s not useless, but it’s not great as well. I shouldn’t sqeeze to make the brakes work. I can’t express the feeling well, because it’s brake feel, but like I mentioned earlier, the brakes fighting me back.

Anyways, I’ve found some tricks to make it work for me. It’s not failed brakes, but it’s not good either.

Anyone facing issues with Auto hold not engaging when it should have?

I was on a slope yesterday (a climb), and stopped for the traffic signal. I assumed that Auto hold will take over after I press the brakes but nope, instead I started rolling behind, luckily I realized it’s not active and stopped as soon as I felt it moving a bit backward.

I don’t know if the tilt sensors for auto hold are at fault or what?
