How to make the best use of this AMA
Our intent with this is to give our most engaged users a deeper insight into the way we build out experiences and approach our roadmap, as well as answer some questions about why or how certain things work the way they do. We recognize there might be many individual bugs or issues that users may have with their specific scooter which require some technical support, however, this may not be the ideal forum for individual resolutions. We do hope you use this AMA as a chance to get a deeper level of understanding of the work the team is doing or share user experience feedback that could improve the experience for all our users.
Some important rules to ensure a smooth experience for everyone:
No duplication. Read the questions that have been posted by others, in case you have the same one, simply like it, to bump it up.
More likes, higher priority. The questions will get prioritized based on the number of likes it receives.
One question per post. Have multiple questions? Please ask them in individual posts instead of clubbing them in a single post. This allows us to answer each question clearly.
All of us hate to be spammed. We will try to answer as many questions as possible, and as quickly as possible. Stay calm and wait for your turn, no spamming.
The biggest issue is with reverse mode. Sometimes, when I press the reverse button, the screen shows “Reverse,” the indicators blink, and the sound plays — but as soon as I twist the accelerator, the scooter moves forward at full torque and speed, and reverse mode turns off automatically. This has almost caused accidents a few times because I usually give full throttle in reverse (which normally limits to 5 km/h).
Why can’t Ather give us to Choose Between Themes. You guys Donno how much I miss the Old Animation while Riding Especially Symbol for Warp
Ather Map can perform lil better we know, But You are not using the Full Potential of the Display.
Ather Stack is better than Competitions in the Market. But It’s not enough. When can we expect Something like Matter Aera 5000+ 's Infotainment System. It runs on Android 11 OS with Tons of Features.
Why can’t we add more than 100 RS to Charging Wallet Amount. It not fun to top up every 2 stops while on my Long Rides. Not for Everyone but atleast give it to needy people.
Did Ather Marketing Team forgot, Ather is a Company grown from Word of Mouth Marketing of the Customers?
Nowadays more respect to Social Media People with More Followers than OG Customers who were the Backbone of the Growth. When will you remember it? And Respect the OGs.
Marketing Team should start doing Wheee Camps and Cover Customer Reviews on Ather Energy YT than paying YTbers for their Videos.
I donno whom to tag for this Question, I know Magic Twist is Backward Compatible with Gen 3 and above model. Why can’t Ather do this to available to needy people by Paying Add Charges?
Will the new 6 kW fast charger only fast charge the 3.7 kW variant, meaning it will use the full 6 kW power for that variant, and for the 2.9 kW variant it will charge only at 3 kW power? Please clarify this

What’s stopping Ather from improving indicator and reverse sounds?
Don’t know about others but in my personal opinion OG 450 sounds were more premium than current sounds, current ones sounds like it’s coming from some toy. I believe it can be improved.
What magic Ather does for auto turn off indicators? One of the OG smart feature.
I was in the group of people who says it never works and had turned it off. But after a year I gave it a try, and it worked, magically adapted to the routes, and I’ve kept it on since 4+ years now.
In my experience, if it does not turn off at particular turns after some rides on the same route it adapts and starts turning off.
I also noticed that on particular turns it turns off at the same point everytime.
From this I think it’s not about lean angle, not GPS because not enough hardware, throttle response? You tell me.
Why volume controls are not integrated in 5 way joystick on rizta Z atherstack 7.
Needless to ask what’s the reasoning for not giving cruise on rizta z with skid control and dark mode why it’s so difficult and why software is not optimised every one reporting delayed response on dash
it’s literally useless as we can’t see previous month data whatever little data like charging units or kms ridden per day etc we should be able to scroll back as see previous months data.
Currently if we miss seeing on the last da of month we can’t get that data on 1st of every month.
I have observed when we push location from app it doesn’t pop up in full screen mode but we have to stop completely and click on maps icon and then we can see the location which was pushed and use Start key to accept navigation.
Also vehicle name change is not getting updated and it’s reverted back to previous name
During the launch of Gen 3, Cruise Control and Crawl Control were promised as “Upcoming Ride experiences”. It was also mentioned that they would come via an OTA to the vehicles. What are you doing to make this happen for the customers who bought the scooter after looking at this promise?
Ather has turned out to be highly misleading. During the event, they confidently claimed that the cruise feature would be delivered via OTA, but now they’re denying backward compatibility. For all their talk about being a “premium” brand, it seems to be just a marketing façade — they’ve completely shattered customer trust.
