Unveiling the all new Ather 450X Gen 3

Real world of the Gen 2 was 85 kms. If we can do 100+ on the Gen 2 then I think we can easily do 130 on this one.

85 in Ride mode with a pillion is tough. Me and my wife love going out on long leisure rides on Toothless (we have done Matheran, Alibaug, Khandala, Kelve). We consistently get ~75 kms and with any incline, it gets down to ~60 kms. Hence, 100 kms with the awesome fast chargers would have been really sweet. Peace :v:

So here is where Tarun mentioned in consistency part they took thefactor of pilion also this time for same performance. So I guess there is an improvement in performance with pilion.

Correct me if I am wrong.

That sounds encouraging now… :grinning: I hope I am not the first in the queue. Will be nice to wait for the review on actual range before committing.

I’m more than happy with my Gen2 (Series1, so extra special anyways :stuck_out_tongue: )

But yes, I’d definitely wish we did get the same range, at the price we paid as early adopters, 1.70L in Mumbai back in 2020

how would we be able to purchase those mirrors as an accessory for our gen 2?

Probably be available with the local Ather Service Center in time. You’ll have to check with them for the availability.

The price has increased. 450+ has increased by ₹2,500 and 450x has increased by ₹5,000. So my estimate is that the charger will now be invoiced at ₹7,975 (up from ₹5,475) and the performance pack will increase to ₹21,510 (up from ₹19,010). Rest all will remain same

*Don’t hold me to it though

In the announcement, they mentioned book now and get deliveries by July 20th. How is that possible? what about the people that are already waiting for their orders to be fulfilled?

It means deliveries of 450X Gen 3 models will start deliveries from tomorrow.

Old bookings who were waiting for their deliveries will get Gen 3 delivered starting tomorrow.

The sidestep is designed for the new frame and chassis. It’s connected to the side channel on the left side, and that’s not the same as Gen 2.

Also we have to appreciate the fact despite the competition or the gimmick campaigns (you know what I mean :wink:) by them. Ather took the stance to only commit the true range of 105km and not the ARAI approved range which others are doing.

Tarun, literally, said that he loves the mirrors on 450X and has loved them for the past 4 years! I mean, come on.

They look awesome, sure, but are pretty bad for their functionality!

I wish he could have at least acknowledged that there was an issue.

As a CEO I mean that can’t be done saying our design is little off but good part is they worked on the feedback and changed the design.

Acknowledgement of our feedback by acting on it is more appreciated than a oral acknowledgement. IMO

He eventually accepted it has a flaw indirectly

Well, you can always downplay it. But instead of acknowledging there is an issue, saying he loves them, is not great or genuine!

Anyway, I’m glad that they did improve it. I can’t wait to get them on my 450X. Hope it’s not going to be too expensive.

AFAIK orders which are in place and waiting fo payment window are asked to visit the EC and they will be given priority any ways.

My friend has his order placed and I suggested him to wait and suggested him if the difference in price is just under 10k please take it don’t go for gen2. He also also got communication from EC to visit to opt for GEN3.

He is more than ready and happy that it is around 5k difference.

I wish they had added ABS also on the new one. But hopefully the newer tyres don’t need it as much as needed on 450X.

Also, I still don’t understand why TPMS wasn’t made available by default instead of putting it as an accessory. That still seems weird.

Also, a new color option would’ve been good like the way Apple does it for smaller upgrades.

@abhishek.balaji, seeing that the new battery has been fit into the old chassis without needing to change it. Does that older 450X users can get an upgrade for their batteries?
