Anyone know which type of lubricant uses in the service centre to reduce the noise of the belt of Ather 450x plzz tell me ![]()
These kind of belt drives, akin to what Ather uses are best lubricated using silicone based spray/aerosols. I’m not aware what exactly do the Service Centre’s use but what I’ve learnt while researching the topic prior to my purchase all point in the same direction. You should be able to look them up & source from any e-retailer (Amazon). This in addition to some basic care such as weekly inspection to ensure you belt drive is clean & free of muck/dirt should alleviate the noise.
i just open the belt cover once a month, gives it a nice wash and apply any AP3 grease.it helps keep it smooth for a while
no, no grease, just dry wash with a good cleaning solution(detergent based)
most probably silicone based sprays only, not sure though
same, i just open up the belt cover and wash it with water and brush monthly in normal season and weekly in rainy season
Wd40 Ive seen and also have been suggested by them
Don’t use WD40 it will damage your belt.
Fa du cal silicon spray
Guys wash off and then use silicon spray only if necessary… no other materials suggested..
I’d be really happy, if Ather fixes noise of the belt. I have only covered <1500 km I am getting lot of noise from the belt. I had visited service center, they said that belt was loose, hence the noise. They tightened the belt and applied lubricant. But I am wondering, if this is the case I might start getting noise again after 1000 or 1500 km’s and I need to visit sc again. I remember this issue is right from 1st generation Ather. I am not sure why they are not taking it as a priority issue. Hope Ather fixes this issue.
The belt noise is very annoying and it has started after a month of purchase. Despite multiple visits to Hennur Service Centre in Bangalore the problem remains unresolved.
Wdy mean by noise?
Wheeeeeee or Keech Keech Keech Keech??
Just asking for Knowledge, Because People I know are Complain about Wheeeeeee Sound So ![]()

Especially, there’s a keech keech sound from the rear pulley when the belt touches the rear pulley guide — the part that prevents the belt from going out of alignment or falling off. I can also feel a grinding sound (with vibrations on the footboard), which usually occurs around 20 km/h during acceleration. However, during rain, this grinding lasts up to 60 km/h if I accelerate suddenly, but it’s not noticeable with gentle throttle input.
It will be worse if I ride with pillon + steep hill + rain it almost feels like belt is slipping from pulley but actually belt tension is perfect!!
I already showed it to service center and never found the solution ![]()
Belt Tension or Wheel Pully Tooth might be Missing bro
Why not you give a Try at Different Service Center than the Current One??
Going to Same SC will never Resolve the Issue,
Go to New SC,
Don’t Tell about Previous Visits of the Current SC,
Just tell New SC the Problem like it’s New and Let them Solve it bro
It will definitely work, Try Once
Keep Warping ![]()
I think a completely dust proof belt cover may reduse the belt issue, other wise lubrication is for temporary solution. Who need to drive 100km daily, is near to impossible apply lubricant every day.
Need not to apply every 100 KMs but A weekly once yess
Also Complete Covered Belt Cover will add Service Charge a little extra like 200-200 since they need to Open and Clean it
I’m too facing this issue. Started hearing this sound (keech keech) after 30K service. After a week, I visited SC and explained the issue. They sprayed lubricant on the belt and the noise was gone! After 2 days, noise is back!!! I get this noise when accelerated to 40 km/h and leave the throttle. Also, it feels like riding ICE scooter (4-stroke sound) above 50 km/h.
I purchased on 31st Aug 25 450x HR facing chun chun sound from day one. Not solved by Ather, i think they have no r & d
Noise issue solved now. There was some alignment issue in the primary belt.
Now no keech keech.. only wheee ![]()
