On Road Experience

My discharge rate varies a lot. It’s kind of weird. Charged it to 94% at night and in the morning (almost 8 hours later) it was still 94%.

But I’d charged it to 98% once and when I unplugged it in a minute, it showed 100% which was weird. But I didn’t use it for about 36 hours and it came down to 86%.

Sometimes, there is a discharge of 4-5% overnight in around 9-10 hours which I think is normal. (About 1% for 2 hours)

So I just consider myself lucky when charge drop is lesser than usual.

I think, discharge rate has to do with the temperature of the battery.
Since the motor is near to the battery, it gets discharged faster( correct me if wrong).
And
Depends on the temperature of the surroundings…

Hmm maybe🤔 nights are cooler, so discharge is less I suppose. I’ll try to keep a check on it this week and see if I can figure out what’s causing this wide variation in discharge.

@rajeshkav sir one point the came up in forum as mentioned by

Can you check the place you are parking if the temperature is high

Last weekend i went home forgetting to shutdown the scooter, it was at 44% on Friday morning 10am and when i returned and checked Monday morning 6am it was 21%…ie 23% drop in 68hrs…around 0.33% in an hour…

Buddy don’t break it
If its tight tell the service guy next time you do service.

I just told last time i gave the 450 for service without any hope of improvement, because i thought its an axial kind of joint and the angle is fixed…but to my surprise it was adjusted…

And one day i was playing with dashboard after the OTA update in the IBC exit …one guy in Ather t-shirt came to me to talk…i just told him this and he showed me its a 360 ball joint…and then i came to know i was lucky to meet the Q&R lead!!

Discharge rate of 2% observed for 8 hours. I do always use shutdown option to stop discharging. Option from mobile is really helpful.

Did you mean “would be really helpful”? Or are you saying there is an option to shut the vehicle down remotely?

Probably ‘WOULD BE’

No option for a remote shutdown from the app. But it was requested earlier as a nice-to-have item

Apologies for typo mistake. would be is right in the context This feature was not there currently.

:grinning: will wait for the next service and get it set right

I think if the vehicle is idle for more than 24 hours it is better to shut it down. I thought shutdown was to be used if it was for much longer periods

No worries! Just had me wondering if there was an option in the app I couldn’t find :slightly_smiling_face:

I park in basement where there is hardly any sunlight.

Certainly it is not affecting my regular usage. However power is wasted without any noble cause.

Your house is hi-tech! You have humidity sensors too?

Above measurement was taken in my office parking lot. My mobile has these sensors, it may not be very accurate however it serves the purpose.

Hello everyone…Not sure if this is the right thread for my queries. If not, let me know where I can post this.
Has the max range displayed at 100% battery differed from time to time? I charged my scooter to 100% for the first time yesterday using my Ather wall unit and the max range displayed was 65 KM. Is it not supposed to be 70?

Also, it took over 4 hours to charge to a 100%. Isin’t it supposed to be 80% in an hour with the Ather charging point? Or has Ather limited it software for battery preservation reasons? @Shreyas

65 in Ride mode and 55 in sport mode. This is the fixed range numbers.

Home point will take 3.5 to 4 hours for charging. The fast charging will happen only at public charging point and that is approximately 1km per.min of charge upto 80% charge.
