Discussions on Vehicle and App OTAs

Thank you! They were able to push an update manually. However, I don’t have an option to pair my phone (via Bluetooth) using the app (iOS).

I am new user of 450x. I can’t pair my iPhone 12 to scooter because app installed yesterday on my phone has no link for Bluetooth Can anyone help to sort out

For iPhone, head to your phone Settings > Bluetooth and pair your scooter. No need to pair through app like Android phones.

Yes very true it’s like Honda active sluggish Warp mode. Even. The ride mode feels low power in double ride

Hi. I got my 450X S1 on 9th July. The current update version is pretty old i.e. 10.1.0-202112. I see the latest update is 10.1.4. When & how Can I get it? Do I need to get it from EC ?

Contact EC, they will push the OTA to your Ather.

call cc and inform about this issue, then they might send someone to pick up your scooter and rectify your issues

While rides are in sync (without location addresses of course ), my battery percentage is showing two days old data. I’m currently using the newly updated stable app.

Shut down the vehicle and start. Log off log in to the app. It should work

@abhishek.balaji After updating to the new iOS App, the All Rides section is empty

Strangely, after the ios update (stable update) for the app, the addresses seemed to have disappeared. Wasn’t the case on beta version.

In both cases , it’s other way round for me :joy: I’m getting addresses and ride statistics which I wasn’t getting in the pre-release app

And my home in 2nd floor but I made

separate line from inside home to parking lot

bcoz to control charging operations through Mobile App

Now am always operating through Alexa voice command with scheduled switch on and switch off option …

Instead of this setup, you can instead opt for a timer-based programmable socket. I have posted the link below.

The only pain in this is that you have to set the timer every time you switch it on.

That’s the default beginning of time - unix epoch (1 Jan, 1970). Reset once and it should reflect correctly.

Ather had big plans for OTAs for 450s. At least, they dreamt and vocal about it. All early adopters knows about it.

After Ather becoming more mainstream, any bug causes a havoc. And, to be fair, there were quite a few issues reported even in the long delayed updates. With more number of vehicles, it only makes the fix hard and impact to be high.

Off late, I hardly had any hopes about OTAs. Now, being afraid of bugs and backlash, Ather will be (is already) super defensive in rolling out any features.

Ather will regret (unlikely to accept) that the best time in the past to rollout all feasible features was 2018-2020. Most early adopters were experimental, understanding and had patience for the issues. They missed to up their software forte while focusing on scale & expansion.

I will be happy to be proven wrong though

But the good thing is that MOST of the 450 owners are the OG ‘early adopters’, having bought it before the 450X boom, so 450 OTAs can still be experimental and not see the same backlash they get when 450X OTAs go bust!

Ather, please don’t forget the 450 owners and our original limited edition scooters

Ather’s recent plans & updates rules out any features specific for Ather 450. Anyway, most features requests are model-agnostic.

If they run a Beta programme for the features, I & many others will be signing up
