Bajaj Chetak Chic hmmm, not sure if I like this name. But the proof is in the Pudding…Let’s see. 5 more days to go. can’t stop humming the song Hamara Kal, Hamasar Aaj, Buland bharat ki buland tasveeeeer

We have received first official communication from Bajaj regarding the upcoming product in the form of a save-the-date mailer. The invite contains several hints towards the zero emission powertrain of the product. Bajaj stopped short of confirming that the ā€˜special launch event’ is all about an electric scooter but the ā€˜Hamara Kal’ branding (translates to ā€˜Our Tomorrow’) is a give away.

The event which is set to take place on October 16 has Nitin Gadkari, minster of road transport and highways, as chief guest and Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, as guest of honor. Both the guests are strong advocates of electrification of transportation in India to drive down pollution and to reduce nation’s dependency of crude oil imports.

The tagline in the invite reads ā€œWe wrote history. Now we write the futureā€. The history appears to be pointing towards Bajaj’s heyday as a scooter manufacturer and the future could be point towards a spiritual successor.

Bajaj has not revealed name of this new electric scooter which will rival the likes of Ather 450. But a leaked document confirms that Bajaj has registered the name Chetak Chic Electric for their upcoming scooter. Considering Chetak was the most successful Bajaj scooter of the yesteryears, it is very much possible Bajaj uses the same name for their future ready electric scooter. Bajaj Chetak Chic Electric could be the name of new Bajaj e-scooter.

This is fantastic news. Chetak electric is some classics going futuristic. If they get the product and pricing right, it’ll give a tough competition to Ather and all other electric EVs. Can’t wait to see it. Now Ather should be on their toes. Because they have company. And as consumers we have options.

Hope to see people have few flight 450s & a forum of Hubli-Dharwad so to invite you people for a meet here too…

I don’t think I am…This talks about longest distance covered in a single charge, certainly I am not. In fact, I am not a person who wants to do such milestones and hold records. These days I don’t charge above 80% and drain below 20%.

Having said all these, 120km is achievable. My predicted range once showed this number.

Achieveing 100+ km in bangalore is still an impossible task. I can get 20-25 wh/km too. But that’s on downhill. I get exactly double on the same route uphill. Predicted range is still a myth. It’s like ARAI certified milage which is unachievable.

This is the best I’ve got. But to get true range of 116 km I should keep doing the same route without going back to where I’ve started. :joy: Which doesn’t make sense. It’s impossible and stupid too.

Rest at ease, the 3g to 4g won’t really matter once you start using the vehicle, the whole connectivity issue is only a small part of what ather offers. This has been discussed extensively earlier and almost none of the long time owners give much attention to it now.
