Generally Uk is always expensive for lot of things. Add VAT and it becomes expensive than India for most items

As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Renewable Energy, these charging stations should be at a distance of every 25 km on both sides of highways, apart from fast charging stations at every 100 km. The workgroup is reportedly working on the basis of the MNRE guidelines and the Karnataka Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Policy 2017, apart from adopting a few proposals from the Draft Delhi EV Policy 2018."**

BESCOM has already installed 2 charging points
I guess the charging stations which they are planning to install now will be similar to this.
They have special tariff for EV charging stations…

Yeah excited about it myself…! But I think it found mention in this article as a general piece of info, not something BESSCOM themselves are working on. It seems to be a long term plan

UK now has more EV charging stations (9,000+) than petrol stations (8,400). These numbers are for public charging points and does not include home or work place charging points. This is noteworthy and exciting development.

While most petrol stations have 4 or more pumps per station, most of the EV charging stations have 1 or 2 chargers per station. This is most likely because the EV numbers are still very low compared to ICEs. But the no of stations and chargers are growing rapidly. There were 913 in 2012 but 6699 by 2018, and more than 2500 have been installed so far this year. The current figure of 9199 includes more than 1600 rapid-charging points.
One important thing to remember is, most of the charging can be done at home or work place for daily usage.

Biggest advantage for EV charging is, infrastructure for electricity is widespread already. With bulk ordering, competition and economies of scale, the charging equipment costs comes down rather quickly. Unlike petrol bunks or CNG stations, there is no need of continuous transportation of fuel headaches.
Govt already announced policy last year to make charging station to be a de-licensed activity. Highlights of the policy:

Private charging at residences / offices shall be permitted

Setting up of Public Charging System (PCS) shall be a de-licensed activity

Power Distribution Company should faciliate power connectivity to any person

Chain of charging stations may also obtain electricity from any generation company

I bet the battery life eventually will take a hit. Fast charging is not a good thing if you use it on a regular basis.

Hey @arvind_nair, Its not fast charging, its a whole new technology instead of lithium ion (Super capacitors) and also the life is 25,000 cycles, much higher
