Turn off optimised charging.
Charging the battery to full has battery degradation risks associated with dendrites & scaling at anode etc.
See paper: “Lithium ion battery degradation: what you need to know” at Royal Society of Chemistry by Jacqueline S. Edge et. al.
“Higher SoC operation accelerates degradation, due to the relationship between the electrode potentials and the rate of parasitic side reactions,”
Some are saying that the vehicle anyways only a charges by limiting battery to only at 90% of 3.7kWh… but then why did the previous optimised charging release have a cut-off at 80% and not 90 or 100%??
For my daily use, 80% full range is good enough, and if it prolongs battery life by even 2 more years, that’s a significant saving!

I had a iPhone where we charged 20-90 or 30-85 for 7 months there was still a degradation of 3%
I take out my Ather after 7pm usually but I have theme on auto switch,since stack 5.8 when I turn on the scooter at same time its always on light theme then after couple seconds switches itself to dark with changing my brightness to around 60% (also flickers a little which goes away after selecting brightness level manually)
anyone experiencing this?
Yes, mine kernel panics on that flicker and does a full reboot.

New features found on 5.8 update
I found new feature today. The ride logs will show random kms and few data is so mismatch that i can’t even believe
Here i rode in total about 35 kms and there is no traces of it.

Sometimes it takes a 15 min delay to update
That ride should be somewhere in Between these logs. It’s been 3-4 hours now
Happens everytime , it doesn’t switch automatically in background, I don’t wait till it changes and start my ride , screen gets freezed till I stop 0kmph , then it gets changed to new theme

The average speed is always wrong. It is supposed to be
Distance covered in Km / Time spent in minutes * 60 minutes.
Ather might say that they don’t include the time spent on traffic signals, where the vehicle doesn’t move. But I checked many times it always wrong even when I ride continuously, without stopping the vehicle.

Found a strange Charging Problem yesterday afternoon at 3:22pm.
My battery had 29% charge left when I plugged in the charger. However it was refusing to charge, with a indication ‘Turn Off Key to Charge’ (though the key was in turned off state). Tried multiple times in vain.
Then I went to setting in dashboard and turned off ‘Optimized Charging’. Plugged in the charger. Now it started to charge.
Looks like there is an issue with the latest OTA.
Anyway, I will not be using ‘Optimized Charging’ anymore as I do not want to charge to 100%. So, decided to turn off this feature permanently. I may consider to turn on back, if 80% cut off comes back.

This is a very minor update and allows zero customization for end user.

Optimized charging Yes/No - but why not allow users to select timings (50% by so and so time and will be complete by so and so time)?

Why not allow users to set the max charging limit or 80% safe charging? Had that concept become irrelevant now?

Regen indicator is okay, but not a revolutionary update for this mentioned fuzz. It doesn’t shows the stats and the live Kwh being generated. So what’s the use? The cool animation?
Ather please come up with better updates.
Also, please don’t auto install updates without asking the end user. Such a boring task to wait 10 mins for this update verification during morning work commute.

They don’t listen to us much, they want to make it zero hustle to the user but end up making them more confused. They hold the controls from the user so that they can give it in next update in hope that we might think they are doing something. It’s just sad at this point.
And they will take the surveys from the users after the features is already introduced, it should be other way around. Ask community where the features lack and then introduce an update to fix that. They are not fooling anybody in the community.
Just remember when was the last time somebody said something positive here

Very true. Recent update took nearly 20 min to complete.
I really wish to see a ‘progress bar’. A simple bar with steps, would make a user feel much better.
