Just for simple checking and washing , they charge 800+….
Not a Simple Check, Multiple Checks will be done as per the SOP but Not Sure Hwta you SC is Doing
And Price Break Up,
Water Wash and Polish alone costs 300+ and General Service is just 500+
Yes, i agree with you…my service centre also doung the same.
Bro they are doing nothing just cleaning belt, wash and polish…Nothing else.
You should escalate this issue
My Ather 450 Gen 1.5 lost connectivity forever and Ather CC cited various reasons and they declared that they can’t restore connectivity and that I have to live with this UNCONNECTED “Connected Scooter”. Or I can opt for upgrade to next series. Well in just 5.4 years, the scooter has become obsolete. While upgrading can be an option, I have lost faith in Ather forever because of this experience. Another early adopter of Ather has been let down.
Don’t worry, in the next 5 years, that will also become obsolete. Are we really going green? or wasting natural resources. Same with Mine, deemed unrepairable.
All that I can say is Ather slept on connectivity issue. They could have developed a connectivity hardware compatible to the scooter and the service provider as a gesture of gratitude towards the early adopters.
Ather should realize that we early adopters purchased the product with blind faith in a startup and by word of our mouth they were able to sell more and by analyzing the ride stats of our Gen 1 and 1.5 vehicles they were able to develop and release newer models.
By the way when was yours deemed unrepairable?
Until some 20 days ago, ride stats were showing up without any issues. On board navigation wasn’t working…I was not really using that. I gave the scooter forl service due to stiffness and noise in transmission. Complete blackout of connectivity occurred immediately after the service. Stiffness and noise issue has been resolved. I suspect that the connectivity module has been tampered with to promote buy back and sell new model to me. Service guy was asking if I am interested. I said no as its not justified as usage is very less.
I don’t belive that connectivity issue can come up all of a sudden. Even now display shows 4G but there is no signal. I see some red flag in this.
I fear that that Ather has killed 450-Gen 1.5 prematurely.
It’s becoming the Mobile phone trend, Go Latest.
Mine had a BMS failure (which was promised that it would be fixed for free), where the scooter is refusing to wake up. They deemed and I quote " Harness, IHB and PDU:" failure, and quoted 60k plus for repairs, which is ironic as an upgrade is offered instead. I highly doubt that multiple things failed on this. Just a tactic to upgrade.
wait for month end, their data pack is limited, it will get refreshed after 2nd of each month
we know. ![]()
I have used the scooter only for some 51kms in July
before this hell showed up.
Thanks, let me wait for 02nd August.
Do you think I can exchange Ather for a new petrol powered two wheeler?
Going back to ICE might be difficult, especially if you have driven constantly in an EV. Your muscle memory is now switched to an EV, believe me. I have six ICE vehicles, and after riding an EV, none of those feel right. You feel lag and everything, even though it’s not there.
It’s better to upgrade IMO after it dies, as they did for me, but if your ride is less than 50km, it makes no sense to upgrade. Wait for ACD25, something might show up interesting as concept vehicles are shown for the first time, along with EL-range.
BTW, are you from Bengaluru or Chennai?
From Bangalore. My ride to office and back to home is 19km…so makes no sense to upgrade. Just use it until it refuses to wake up. Are EV manufacturers governed by any regulatory body in India? For the various smart features (connectivity) that aren’t working in my scooter I deem it fit to ask Ather for proportionate cash back. That’s fair enough as the scooter is mechanically roadworthy. Location feature, ride stats, maps are not working. Only battery percentage is being shown in the app.
Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI)
For something that is offered for free, I highly doubt there would be any monetary value refund.
We purchased the scooter for it’s standout features. Such features ought to be continued to be present for the lifespan of the scooter. I am not asking for any additional features.
It’s a loophole companies like Ather benefits not so much for customers side
This I agree
. No wonder the only thing I hate about them is that they don’t have any transparency like before.
I own a Ather rizta s 2.9 with pro pack. But i am facing some issue in dashboard. My turn by turn navigation is not appearing in the dashboard but in the Ather app it shows everything is connected and map is sent to the scooter. but still it does not appiear in my rizta dashboard
With restoration of full connectivity to my Ather 450 Gen 1.5 declared as impossible by Ather, Athter offered me buy back or upgrade options. I owned my Ather with passion and care and its difficult to let go of it though my usage is just 1000km over 5.5 years…the attachment to it is the factor. In case I decide to retain the scooter, I am not sure whether replacement parts will be available going forward; particularly the electronic components…replacement if available could be expensive too. I think that I need to just go for the buy back offer and sell it back to Ather. Any suggestions on this?
None of the electronics parts are available, nor can the battery pack be fixed. Support is a dead end, too, for Gen 1 and 1.5.
So it’s better to part ways…
