Vibrations originate from the motor - perhaps the bearings that are side loaded due to belt tension - and travel through the rigid mounting into the chassis where you can feel them at your feet.
I have a good mind to work on a solution next week to isolate the motor from the chassis. Will not be easy since there is no clearance between the two components, and some will have to be made.
I do hope that the motor uses decent bearings and not some jank which has irreperably worn out abnormally by now because of aforementioned side loading.
Hey,
U canât be judging ppl like that. And that is also considered as rude. How could u tell so sure, that no Ather Family has a women not wearing sarees and only chudidhars n etc. Ather ppl should n will listen to everybody. They just donât think like âoh the person who buys My Moped, in their family no women wil wear saree so I donât need to consider that part in my designâ no dude Ather is listening to ppl. And considers everyoneâs opinion in their next new design.
So @binu.surveyor do not judge anyone by its cover.
Hope u would change ur thoughts to something better
Women have difficulty to sit single side sir. more than 90% of women wear sarees in india. Design is worst. Itâs an expensive electric Scooter in Market but itâs not a family electric Scooter.
even though i had the same thought but its not like that try your spouse or your mother to take a seat they will feel sure comfortable so donât required accessories
This will be never ending topic, no scooter meets every requirement, infact even high-end bikes do miss on some or other important feature. Before the purchase we need to see what all features match our mandatory requirements then choose one with close match. In many cases we go with after market fix to add those features which are missing.
There is one thing here you cannot start motor with side stand but if your motor is already on and if u put sidestand then motor doesnt turn off ! If some one gives throttle it starts moving @abhishek.balaji i hope you guys can make a change which would turn off motor when there id a side stand ! Yesterday my scooter fell down because of this ! My bad i didnt use kill switch tough this would be help full.
The reason for the current implementation is that, what if due to spring failure or something the stand gets engaged while in motion at good speeds. Sudden motor cutoff at higher speed is not safe hence this is done.
But there is the concern. so if it is in static state (0 speed and stand engaged) the motor should not start this can be done I guess.
But it is always good practice, to engage kill switch when we stop.
I had this bad experience, I was dropping my daughter I was on standstill forget to use motor kill switch as soon she got down in playful way she throttle the accelerator Luckily I engaged the kill switch at same time. These things we need to remember all the time. This is another reason I donât want to give my vechile to family/friends who has no experience with EV scooter.
Exactly E scooter requires some acclimatisation ( I think correct word). Because we are used to the sound of engine, to be adjuatd to the silence of EV. Thatâs like going to meditation class, initially we feel uncomfortable by the silence slowly we start to feel.
Sir/Madam , do you own an Ather? Because a lot of us here, actually do and I am yet to see an issue with the strength of the design. Iâve gone at 40,50,60 even 70, on a corner once. Itâs more stable and planted than any other 2 wheeler Iâve riden yet.
What was I supposed to feel? Because all I felt was excitement cornering so well on a scooter.
I support this suggestion. If the vehicle is standstill and if the stand is on, then the accelerator should be cut off. It should be a simple change for talented Ather folks.
Yes. Exactly same thing happened to me. I put the stand down. But motor still on, I tried to shift the handle and bike took off. I almost fell withe bike but managed to stay standing. Hurt my shin. Is this normal or does motor cut off with the stand down?
Please update,.
If stand engaged and motor off then it does not start. But if motor ON and then stand engaged the motor doesnât cut off. This is how it is designed so no worries, we have to engage kill switch if we are stopping and engaging stand.
I guess that makes sense too⌠if the side stand engages during rise due to some unfortunate circumstances, it will run down the scooter causing more damage maybe⌠but that can be resolved by checking speed by checking speed to make sure the scooter is not moving.
Also I have seen the sensors fail on various other bikes. In that case, Ather will refuse to start if this feature is brought by.
