THE SERVICE SAGA - 2 years of Ather 450

What’s the issue you are facing?

  1. TPMS stopped working after the update on December. They replaced it and still didn’t work. Now no one knows why.
  2. Hard to explain this one. After replacing both the break pads, while applying break there is a noise coming and in the handlebar i can feel some kind of vibration (only in sudden breaks, not the slowdown breaks). Two months, 8 visits later still no improvements. I gave up.

Which gen is yours? Might be the bluetooth server issue, my new scooter has the same .

For 2nd problem replace the disc, you have a bent disc. I did faced that once. When i had Gen 1, when you replace disc ask them to grease the caliper .

Mine is Gen 3. After replacing both the sensors, the rear started working after a week. The front is still showing - -

That makes sense about the bent disk. Do you know how much it costs for replacement? May be they might have mishandled while changing the break pads and that caused the bent and that’s why they keep on dragging the issue?

Ask them to pair again. After pairing. Remove the air completely in front and start refilling from 0. This should reset the sensor.

For front disc it costs arount 900 in amazon asc might charge over 1200 plus labour

Recently Changed for Gen 3 Front, costs 800+ and Labour 300/-

Because of this breaking issue, the agility of the vehicle is totally gone.

After spending some time getting used to the new scooter, here are my thoughts.

Let’s start with the biggest change: the processor has been upgraded to the QCM2290. That means all 2026 models should come with the latest processor. Unfortunately, Ather hasn’t updated the specifications on their website yet.

What I like: That upgraded processor. The dashboard is insanely fast now. Honestly, that’s the standout improvement. Everything else, unfortunately, feels like a downgrade.

What I don’t like: The list is pretty long.

The handlebar feels so light that it almost feels like riding a bicycle. The turn indicator sound is another strange change — the simple beep in Gen 1 was perfect, but now it sounds like a truck horn. The handling sometimes feels unpredictable, almost like the scooter has a mind of its own.

Overall, it feels like Ather is cutting costs with each generation. The seat feels like it might break, the panels feel flimsy, the switchgear edges are sharp, and the torque delivery feels non-linear.

Here are the Pics showing quality control in their factory

Nope. It has been updated.

The software version is Q1 =qcm2290 if it was sd212 then the software would start with N1

Showroom guys have no idea because Ather has not published the update yet.
