Atherās front brake pads are of worst qualityā¦ I vhanged ut at 11250 kms and now when I leave it for service at 15400 kms they say brake pad is goneā¦ Diesbt your brakepads last even for 5k kms?.
This is the worst on any bikes that i have used so far
It can be that brake pads are of low quality and you may be aggressively using the front brakes thus they need to be change.
One thing you can do it when service person asks to change brake pads you can ask him to show the pads to you.
You can yourself examine the brake pads and and check if it actually has faded or has life left in it by examining the brake pad line which is a white line used to measure brake pads life.
So you can make sure that the service person is scamming you or not.
Another best case is to change it yourself with a good quality brake pad that you can buy yourself and ask your local bike garage to replace it for cheap.
I hope this wont effect warranty of vehicle
It wonāt affect the warranty as the warranty is affected if you did major changes or repairs to the motor or battery from third-party repair shops.
Also in another post on the forum, someone verified that the brake pads are similar technically and physically to to one used on Bajaj Pulsar or some other bike i donāt remember.
Just check the brkae pads with helpof local trusted mechanic to see if brake pads are actually faded or have life left then you can even ask him to buy and fit similar specs brake pads.
Why spend more at Ather service centre for similar part replacement.
Paid 1300 for 1st Service at 4350 odo as belt was aking noise and i can feel its slipping as autohold was giving jerks , Such a pathetic experience and costly serviceā¦ All excitemet of the ownership is down the drain , EV service is a SCAM

silicon spray bottle only costs rs270
I clearly mentioned that i dont want any sort of coating, Am wondering they are charging 400 for bearing lubrication in 1st service , So what is covered under 700 RS service charge , Just tightening belt and bolts and washing the scooter 
Vehicle was delivered after 2 days i couldnāt confront the charges as it was Monday and i needed to pick the scooter and it was raining heavily too here in BLR
silicon spray is a lubricant sprayed on the belt
did you complain about scooter noise? they may have done 2,3 for that
Not sure the SA told me the coating is done on scooter which i denied , Yes belt noise and slippage was there but i do not see a need to do bearing lubrication or greasing at 4k KMS , I have a petrol scooter and nothing as sort of this done even at 15k kms
my SC hasnāt done anything (~2 yrs) without my approval
For periodic service i have been charged 500+gst earlier, now its increased to 700+gst, which includes washing, they also check belt tension, wire damage I dont have the complete list of what they check
my 20k service is next month will ask what do they actually do during servicing
1] If they were changing the entire bearing then itās ok for the price but I donāt understand why they are charging Rs 325 for applying Rs 20 worth of grease on bearings. Is the grease made from dinosaur fat and does Tarun himself come to apply the grease for it to cost this much.
My local mechanic would apply it for free.
2] The silicon spray I have no issue, just want to know if they used the entire bottle or only 1/3. Do they drench the belt in the spray or apply just 2 sprays and be done with it. I think one can do at least 3 full belts coats with that 1 bottle. (I may be wrong)
3] And last but not least, the Rs 700 service if it doesnāt contain the above 2 points (which is what a service should contain), then itās just a big glorified water wash (mind you that too not a very thorough clean) with easy 2 min belt tensioning.
The whole advantage of EV having little to no maintenance as it has low moving parts goes down the drain when scams like charging Rs 700 for water wash and Rs 300 for freaking greasing on bearings is done.
If Ather didnāt have a clause for warranty void if servicing not done or done outside authorized SC, I would have happily got it services it at my local mechanic.
I donāt think basic greasing and easy spraying on belt with a good wash would cost more than Rs 200 if i got it done outside. (Rs 100 for the silicon spray, Rs 50 labour for greasing and belt spraying and Rs 50 for a good wash)
I donāt mind paying for good parts and labour, but this whole Rs1200 service for miniscule zero skill work is just pathetic from Ather side.
If Ola has poor garbage tier quality and zero skilled service then Ather is no good with this pricing for this kind of labour.
Same issue with us. We have 450x and bought it 6 months back. Software got updated, after taht we started seeing display glitch as well as map was behaving weirdly . Later bike was stopping suddenly in the middle of the ride. Once service done, they updated software they said.
But after that also we faced the same issue twice. During this time autohold will come on screen though we are in normal traffic in bangalore city roadā¦No incline or decline.
Now 2 days done, bike is in service center , not sure what is the issue.
It was the bad idea to buy ev i believe.
Ather service is very very worst, same experience for me, before giving for service my vehicle was good, post service lot of noise, they are least bothered to l9k into the issue
After going through multiple service visits for the same belt noise issue, I think the problem is bigger than the service center itself. After my ticket got escalated, they finally admitted that the noise was because of the loose primary belt and started working on that. It took abount an hour for a technician to adjust the belt to the right settings.
Iām not an expert at this, but I think either they donāt have the right tools or proper knowledge or may be the technology is complicated for them to attend to. From Ather engineering side, they have to simplify the servicing so that the vehicle is easy to service.
It happens with me also, I approached to service center and they checked and found , accelerator switch is damaged due to water , though changing it I have not face the problem since a month, But if parts are damaged due to water then I have not to use scooter in rainy season, as they are not covering it under warranty,
