I have a 450+ Gen3 The promised range (based on my habits) in Ride mode is 75km. The advertised range was 70km

Last week I full charged and reset the trip meter. Did the usual riding, no special hypermiling or anything. Today I’m left with 5km, and the total travelled distance is 73km. Looks like the calculation is also keeping in mind the idle drain (which has sipped approx 10-15%) The battery management and range prediction is amazing!

I have also felt that this is damn accurate. You really get what the dashboard shows. I also have a Nexon EV, which sometimes is a hit and miss.

This is because your battery is actually capable of more range but software limited? Right?

Yeah actually, the battery can actually go a lot further but decides to limit you to what’s promised…

I assume Ather would stop mentioning about range and start using the efficiency in wh per km.

Why I think like that?

  • It’s a common metric for all generations and models.
  • the Ather app v10 doesn’t have projected range in the trip history
  • it doesn’t have trip meter as well. Ather stack 4 had trip A and B, stack 5 has 1 trip meter and I expect it will be removed on Ather stack 6.
  • there are only two places the range is available, the home screen and range per mode in the highlights page.

But my Ather 450x gen 3 give me about 120+ in sports mode… I have screenshot but how it send idont know.

Mere Ather 450X me 125 approx range aa rahi hai wo bhi sports mode me. Brakes pad mene 10000 km par change karaye hai boss. Sabhi kuch badhiya se handle kar sakta hu…bas yaha par MSG screenshot ya video kese dalna hai ye nahi aata.

Open Ather forum in chrome or any other browser in desktop mode.

Proof that good efficiency and range can be extracted in any mode.

Btw there was no uphill or downhill. All flat road, and low-medium Delhi traffic.

How are we reading the range now a days? Earlier lower the wh/km, it would be better. Now I see km/unit. Higher the better? Range/ unit of charge?

Higher the efficiency is good. Measuring it Km/Unit is good, as it’s a common measure for all type of EVs.

It’s simple to calculate the range from the efficiency figure. Multiply with the usable SOC capacity, my case it’s 3.12KW for gen3, so multiplying by 3 is approximate range. This will vary for new models as the SOC capacity is different (2.9 or 3.7; also Ather stopped mentioning the usable capacity).

Wh/km on Display will be a Crazy Feature to Mill a Good Range while Riding

Ultravioltte used to show wh/km every KMs Data. From Mach 2 Software they are showing the Data per 200 Mrrs. Which will help you gain a Crazy Range. Ather also can do but They hide the wh/km option even from Developer Mode :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

So considering Battery pack 3.7 kw -0.5 =3.2 Kw So projected range will be 3.2 * 56 =179.2 Km that too in sports mode.
