New Ather Grid Pricing Disproportionately Affects Older Vehicles Without 6kW Charging

So Gen 3, 4, Apex, 450s and pre-2025 Rizta owners will now pay more for charging because these vehicles charge much slower than 6kW supported vehicles. How is this fair ? Why are we still using this time-based billing criteria ?

The price increase is for only the 6kw chargers or all Ather grid chargers ?

Cost should change

Same ₹1.20/min rate, but older vehicles charge slower. That means we pay more for the same energy. ₹/kWh pricing would be fairer.

Yes cost per kW makes sense…

In my Recent long ride, i paid more for the same distance we travel with Gen 5 and Gen 2

:confused::cold_face:

All chargers are now 1.2 per minute plus gst

I have seen some individuals keeping vehicles charging even after reaching 80% when others are waiting. Minutes based costing is good as people don’t keep their vehicle charging for long.

They probably Beta Tester for 100% grid

Per-kWh pricing is fairer for the energy consumed.

But time-based pricing helps charger availability.

A better system could actually combine both: ₹/kWh for charging + an idle/occupancy fee after charging is complete or after a reasonable time/SOC threshold.

That would be fair to slower-charging vehicles without encouraging charger blocking.
