Maintenance and Service

This is the last thing i would like Ather to do :frowning:
They have been courteous to find a good time after messing it up once and missed to pick the vehicle for servicing/addressing reported concerns.
Now the problem, they promised me a loaner vehicle and so i had oblidged to have my vehicle picked up from Office today morning. However, when my vehicle was picked up, i was surprised they didnot come with the loaner vehicle and i was told that someone else will be coming a little later to deliver it… this was at 1130 today at Eco World, Adarsh Palms Retreat. It is now 1900 and i still hve not got any vehicle. i have been trying to call Service numbers & customer care, but no one is getting connected… All are busy.
Now how do they expect me to return home to RRNagar !!?

Wow, this is depressing.

Now that everyone has started making EVs, execution is the key to any manufacturer. Should see how Ather will keep up with scale.

I gave my bike for 5000 km service on 12 Nov with promise of getting back on same day, however after multiple chase up I got it back an hour before, apart from concerns on noise from front part, air leakage, belt noise and accelerator being hard raised by myself, I have also been informed that both brake pads have been changed, motor fan has been changed, mirror has been changed. My Access had original brakes pad till 14000 kms not sure how Ather brake pads worn out so soon, I use lot of regen to slow down the bike.

Wow… this is news! The offer was for just the first 100 customers!? I should have known this before so that I wouldn’t have put extra efforts to market the 450 to my friends at my work place.

i tried the Roadside assistance and they did pick the call !
Explained the situation and they were courteous enough to listen thru and tried to help out. i was offered a Uber Voucher to use to return home !
Further, they promised to get me the loaner vehicle today morning, but i said they will need to do it before 7am, which i was very very sure they will not be able to due to logistics… however, they went all out to manage to provide one last night itself delivered at my residence @2200.

Just going back to why the Loaner was not given earlier, they said they noticed some issue on a vehicle that was on its way to be handed over to me in office y’day afternoon and hence they aborted that to get that loaner fixed, but while trying to get that fixed they missed out on working on a plan B nor on the communication with me.

Now i am hoping that the issues reported gets solved…

I recently had 3 issues resolved from Ather. Issue started ( Motor sensor error) having the vehicle delivered just 3 days after a long waiting period despite several follow-up. But worst part is lack of communication and commitment from Ather which I never anticipated…

The person who delivered the vehicle post service was not able to tell me why the issue occurred and what was the procedure to rectify the issue. Neither I got a call from service / technical team to explain the issue.

I found after service is something which Ather must be serious about.

Hi @abhishek.balaji, i got my vehicle delivered last Sunday. Upon receipt I noticed that the stand was not retracting completely and when opening there is a lot of play. I went back to Ather Space and as advised I raised a ticket thru the app. I received an e-mail that someone will get back within 24 hours but didnt. Then i got another e-mail that someone will get back by EOD (yesterday) and didnt. Request you to please look into this service request.

Last Saturday, i charged my vehicle 100% and un-used and turned key again on this week Monday to go office.
Surprised to see dashboard, led head light or horn didn’t Turned on. Instead getting panic, i went office in alternate vehicle which i was using before owing Ather.
Evening when i returned back from office, i connected vehicle to charging pod and noticed pod was blinking red light for 10 second and it used to turn green proven the problem of vehicle.

Tuesday morning i called Ather customer service:
1st call - Informed to charge vehicle for 30 mins and see if vehicle gets bootup - Ended with failure.

2nd call - Do hard reset and vehicle boot up - ended with failure.

3rd call - Scheduled vehicle for towing to diagnose the issue and 5K service together. Received appointment for vehicle pick up at 12 PM.

Wednesday my vehicle was towed in TATA Ace for service and today i received call saying vehicle has been serviced and ready to deliver on Friday.

Issue : Problem with battery and temporarily replaced with loaner battery until existing battery gets repaired which will take minimum of 15 days and again pick up and drop will be taken care.

  1. Should learn from others mistake instead getting in trouble by own.
  2. Ather is best in everything for those who believe and gives them time to help ourselves.
    3)I have not been active on forum was the problem for my vehicle.
  3. Recently changed my office which increased time and routine charging scheduled made my vehicle sicker than before.

Note: You might be using shutdown feature from a day of purchasing Ather but you will realize the pain when vehicle getting towed away.

Did you shutdown your Ather or just a normal time key switch off?

Today I had been to Shell petrol pump to re-fill the Air Pressure. Requested him to fill 30 in the front tyre and 32 in the rear tyre. Immediately after filling the air I tried to move the vehicle which seems to be tough I wonder what had happend and moved the vehicle for few metres. Handle was so tough and vehicle was going in one direction.

Immediately stopped there and checking what went wrong in last few minutes after checking realized that the pressure in the front tyre went down. So tried to push the vehicle back to Air pressure station and it was very tough to move the vehicle for few meters alone. Looks there was some issue with nozzle of their system which is not moving back our pin back to closed position. Once again refilled the Air and the vehicle is back to it’s normal ride condition.

So here my query to @Ather.Team and @abhishek.balaji is that, when I’m unable to move the vehicle for few meters with in petrol pump and what is the situation when that happens in the middle of the road. Before owning Ather I use to Ride CB Unicorn even that was not so tough to move when it’s punctured.

Requesting @Ather.Team to check the same and get back to us on how to handle this situation. This seems to be scary, what we will do if we are struck in the late night…where I have to move the vehicle at least to a near by safe location.

When punctured its harder to move. But what you can do is engage park assist, change the direction for forward (by pressing the start button) and instead of pushing the vehicle, accelerate and walk along with the vehicle.
By engaging park assist, speed is capped hence there is no worry of over accelerating the vehicle.

That’s a good idea…but I don’t think we could move the vehicle even with Parking Assistant ON, it was that hard to move without any pressure in the tyre.

From day one after charge, i used to shutdown in home and office. Suddenly went wrong last time.

Vehicle throttle body has started to make squeaking noise and its getting hard day by day,
Can we use a WD-40® Specialist® Electrical Contact Cleaner Spraym or any similar to clean it or some kind of electrical contact cleaner , as I have used these to clean resistor POTs in electronics(Volume controler), will this help , any inputs would be helpful.
@Ather.Team;@abishek.balaji is there a simple solution to resolve apart from sending it to service that can be done by the owner himself.

Hi is your touch screen’s centre portion where speed , current ride ,trip meters are displayed are turned to yellowish colour ? Not only in main dash screen but also when showing OTA updates, tyre pressure, charging screen ?
