Issue : Suddenly Belt is wearout & cutted while Driving
Scooter Suddenly Stoped while coming to office and safely parked to Road side ( it’s a luck there is no much vehicles on the road @ 6:40am )
Observed : Acceleration is working Motor is running But wheel not moved At last found Belt is ware out & cutted
Action Taken : Called RSA & Scooter pickuped in 2 hrs .

You will get Your Belt replaced under warranty. Since the Stock Belts has 20,000 KMs Warranty and After Sale Purchase of Belt has 10k KMs Warranty.
It’s a good thing that we can get it replaced under warranty, but I think implementing a belt drive that to one without cover was a bad decision by Ather. As it means it will wear out quickly especially in India where there is lots of dust and stones, pebbles on the road.
They might have known about this issue during the development phase itself but they kept with their decision maybe due to cost saving etc.
Implementing a chain drive like most bikes or using a belt drive with a full proper cover must be done by Ather.
Belt drive is especially dangerous in cases like above mentioned by Bharath and many others who had their belt break in the middle of the road and could have caused fatal accident to both rider, pillion ongoing traffic and pedestrians.
Bharath was lucky in his scenario. The worst part is one never knows if and when the belt will break as service interval is 5K Kms, one day the belt is ok and you go on regular commute and next thing you know it breaks while you going even usual 60 kmph and you can gave dangerous accident with grave body injury.
There is a reason chain drive is used in almost all 2 wheeler. It won’t break and if properly maintained with chain cleaner and grease will last more than lifetime of the vehicle.
Even I wish to see Chain Drive but So Many Things needs to be Changed
I donno what to say but My Primary Belt Changed at 55-57k KMs I think and Still Running Good at 86k KMs
Also I skipped 80k and 85k Service, Still Its Runs Good
But Its not recommended for everyone.
There was a Time were Ather Belt was Poor But Now They improved it 
hi can anyone tell me a fix or know what the issue is? My belt is making a whistling noise when accelerated to a certain speed. I know for sure it did not make it before. The scooter was parked at home and when I took it out it started making noise.
Aditya the belt is made of rubber and no matter how durable a company claims it’s still rubber, polymer material and will wear out quicker than metal chains. Plus our Ather belt is designed to be open on all sides by the company for some god forsaken reason.
India is not Europe or USA, small stones enter belt drive and can cause wear, tooth break of belt etc which is causing this weird sound when you drive.
My suggestion is to get belt drive cleaned by pressure washer from local car washer to remove debris that might have stuck in belt.
If issue persist visit service centre where they will keep your vehicle for a week, do nothing while it keeps gathering dust and return it in same condition claiming problem is solved or you can be lucky and they might actually solve the issue.

I’d like to share my recent experience with a sudden belt issue on my Ather 450X (27,000 km run).
Yesterday night, I started hearing a screeching noise while accelerating. Initially, I thought something might be stuck between the tyre and mudguard, because after a few minutes of continuous riding, the sound disappeared and the bike ran smoothly.
However, this morning, when I took the bike to office, the same screeching noise returned — especially whenever I slowed down and then accelerated again. The sound was so loud that people around were staring at my bike.
After riding roughly 10 km, the bike started losing power — the motor was revving loudly but the scooter wasn’t moving forward. Luckily, the nearest Ather service centre was just about 1.5 km away, so I pushed the scooter there and handed it over for inspection.
The technicians identified that the secondary belt had completely worn out and needed replacement. This was quite unexpected since there were no gradual signs of wear earlier — the issue occurred all of a sudden.
Sharing this here so others can be aware and possibly get their belts inspected around the 25,000–27,000 km mark, even if there are no obvious symptoms.
my 450 has started making the same noise today odo is at 4.3k only should i visit sc?
My Ather 450X Gen2 has currently completed 29,000 km on the odometer. The original drive belt is still in place and remains in good condition. It has not been replaced since purchase.
I ordered some silicone spray and applied it yesterday, slight shrill is still present I think belt felt a little loose as well as compared to when i first got the scooter, time to get it serviced i think
Mine is April 2023 model 450x 2.9kw battery vehicle, run about 16,000kms only.
Today to my surprise, belt got broken while riding today morning to gym (after moving for 2kms only).
Able to manage to bring into service center which is about 10kms.
Looks like service center guys are trying to trick me with excuses so far heard as follows.
1. Service not done on time - This is not true, more over app is not showing any history. 2. Belt replaced at 10,000kms when raised about belt noise. This is not sure what exactly done by them. If replaced, how come that is broken after using for 6000kms only? Even in this case, does Ather has cap to replace belt once with such poor quality?
