It’s taxed too much. The old UI was so fluent, but they scrapped it for a laggy, hanging interface. Even after so much verbal feedback from customers, these guys still refuse to further optimize their UI.

That processor was never meant to handle heavy loads, it was meant to meed basic needs. basic 4g connection, calls, lite internet surfing and messages. I had a Nokia 2 with this processor, and that thing was a living hell. Since they already have given the hint that they will be upgrading the processor, well the question remains is when?

And if (I highly doubt) it will be backwards compatible with older 450 scooters

not it wont be ever, thats like samsung offering snapdragon 8 elite from s25 to s22 just cause s22 is still capable and as good as s25. that never happens

Not really a good comparison, phones are not exactly as modular as our Ather’s, new models release with 0 changes other than some new sensors on existing chassis :joy: I know that tesla offered upgrades for their older cars to get improved compute, Ather could easily follow in their footsteps, but we know Ather how Ather is

Definitely, but the cost will be damm expensive. So it will not be worth or makes the upgrade not cost effective.

Depending on Ather’s mood they might keep all the sensors and connectors same with only board upgrade in the dashboard.

Yes, even if its 20-30k would be worth it for getting newer features and staying somewhat upto date on your scooter. But yes, its unlikely Ather would like us to upgrade out scooters, they would just rather have us buy new ones.

Why would they make it backward compatible when they can market it as the sole selling point of new vehicles? Still, you people believe in backward compatibility from Ather? They didn’t even make the wheel speed sensor backward compatible for 2024 Apex users, instead, they made it outdated just to sell that feature as a 2025 exclusive.
