Comment down any questions you want me to ask Ather team…
I have made a list of questions:
HALO RELATED QUE:
1) Halo compatibility with 450+.
2) UV visor option
Atherstack & app update timeline
Any plans to allow 450+ uses to upgrade to 450x
Service plan update ?
will the coasting regen power for gen 3 be the same as for the gen 4?
I just realised that I posted question answer in a close topic.
So again posting in open topic (mods if you find this post not related to the topic kindly move it to the appropriate section)
Event was great but boring for me cause I already saw the launch event and I knew everything about the Rizta and Halo.
HALO related questions : Halo was just for showcase purpose… they didn’t allow users to experience it . Delivery: By end of JULY(I don’t think so) Visor options & Visor replacement cost : Not decided yet.(He said you can get visor replaced at sc…but no price update)
Rizta related questions :
Why no touchscreen? : Tarun said we don’t want users to get confuse with a lower variant with no touch screen and mid/top variant with touch screen… so they drop the idea of giving touchscreen (He said that touchscreen costs less than joystick )
I took a test drive and I was so amazed by the magic twist that I forgot to test the drum brakes . Boot was spacious but the seat hinge quality was okayish. Seat was spacious.
Atherstack was lagging soooooo much.(all thanks to the decade old processor)
450 series gen 3(gen2):
Atherstack 6 ->by end of JULY (so ig beta by end of June or Mid July) App update ->mid/end of July
No battery health info to users any time soon(min 1.5-2 years)
Coasting regen → same regen power as GEN 4
450+ gen 3 users Asked Tarun after the event and he said they can’t enable Bluetooth for 450+… so ig no future upgrade option (to 450x) for 450+ users
Edit :
Optimized charging: one more guy and I asked sde to allow users to set custom time for optimised charging (let’s see if they will implement this thing in oc or not)
Not sure what’s the fuss about Halo? It was common sense that waiting period will be too long keeping in mind the track record of Ather when it comes to new releases. Only thing which motivated atleast me is am getting at 50% discount. Yeah I agree they crossed the deadline twice or thrice already, but the track record is like that
As much as I trust Ather in terms of quality and reliability, this video has put some fear into me for getting the Halo.
Schumi has highly spoken of Ather everytime and has been pretty honest about what he feels but now this video of his makes me worry.
I usually take only a few points from reviewers, not everything, I’m one of those guys, who believe in “Phele istimal karen, phir vishwas karen”. Please wait for the actual product, This guy won’t even wear it.
I am also one of those who like to try and believe but I can’t crash/fall test and check. I am only skeptical because he’s one of the honest reviewers and has been true about Ather. I would still believe that Ather would not compromise on safety.
While he raises a concern about situational awareness with Halo, transparency mode allows traffic noise to pass through at a comfortable level. A more relevant point would have been the lack of DOT/ECE certification, which ensures the helmet protects the head during accidents. There was no mention of this crucial safety aspect. And what ever he said about half face helmets are valid.
He’s not wrong tho ECE certificate showes how good it can absorb the impacts heaving that thing around ur back of the head is literally like a time bomb but I also believe it’s designed to fall off in case of an accident
He did mention about the safety certifications, even adding that he may have tried & tested the Halo if it had an ECE certification, rather than just an “untested” DOT certification
The company conducts R&D before releasing any new product, right? Earlier helmets were simply white labels, so there was no need to do anything – just slap an Ather sticker and sell. Halo is a ground-up, entirely new product. Let’s wait before jumping to conclusions and see what kind of certifications it passes.
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing. Hope Ather is considering the feedbacks from this guy atleast for the helmet to get certified properly…that means safety first…
Let them release it late, but let it be well thought product and value for the money…
