It would make sense for them to have a buyback feature, if people sell bounce back the used scooter, they could add it to their fleet of rentals and also use it for the 2 wheeler taxi service. Considering that in 4 years or so, they’ll have enough scooters coming back to them, they can expand both services without having to buy new vehicles. They could sell the used scooters back to the riders of the 2 wheeler taxi service, (kinda similar to what ola was doing long back when they were helping finance cars for their drivers, there were rumours among the drivers that cars that ola gave used to get more rides than the others so they could pay back their loans easily).
Curious to know what Ather intends on doing with their buy backs when they get it. At this stage it doesn’t look like it would be significant because their buyback value is quite low and the free market would get you a better price, BUT depending on how these other scooters perform by then, it might end up being the best price we might get, so they should nevertheless be ready for a ton of scooters coming back to them!
