@ibbi @power_light2000 There are a few modules/patches to hide root and maintain basic integrity to spoof UPI, Banking apps and few other apps which detect root for no reason.
Though the Ather apps worked fine on TWO rooted devices for ~9 months, it detected root again due to one misbehaving module used for AdAway…
@anbuchelva offered help to resolve this issue after my first post here since the same version of Ather app was working on his rooted device, which gave me hope. After our few minutes of brainstorming and process of elimination, i found the misbehaving module and removed it, the Ather app started working! Thank you very much @anbuchelva
What’s better?? I had sent a strong worded email to Ather team - Mr.Syed, top executive from escalation team called me next day (after our local fix) and collected all the info he needed, he co-ordinated with the technical team and assured me it wasn’t an intended behavior and same would be resolved in couple of weeks.
He requested me to replicate the issue again to collect some more which the technical team needed (logs?) but, since i had fixed the issue on my end, i couldn’t replicate the issue - he kept calling me each day for 4-5 days to see if the issue had reoccurred, he was very patient and polite.
Coincidentally, Ather had released yet another small update withing that week, i updated and reinstalled the misbehaving module to verify and guess what!! No root detection error!! Huzzah!!
TLDR: Forum member helped me resolve root detection locally on my phone and Ather too seems to have removed such check from the latest version of their app. Overall, I’m happy and wanted to share this here, for those who care.

Step 1: Check service centre timings from app and confirm it’s opened.
Step 2: call the number mentioned there to contact the service centre.
Step3: call goes through same IVR, even through each service centre has different numbers. Fine, go through all IVR steps by pressing numbers again and again.
Step 4: Get to know that the support system works from 10 am.
Me: Why don’t you just inform me when I make the call? Why should I go through all the IVR steps to hear that message at the end? Anybody has comman sense in this company?
