On Onam Day, I planned for a Ride to Go Calicut just to use 6kW Charger and See how it’s working

My fear was what if it doesn’t support Gen 2

So for a Safer side I spoke with CI Team Tamilnadu and Kerala to confirm that the 6kW Charger is in Test Phase and will not support current models

Maybe it supports new Gen Vehicles like Gen 5 with Pro Pack or Apex

So I had to drop this Plan and Went to Snehatheeram Beach :beach_with_umbrella:

I think, Older Gens will not get Support of 6 kW if I am not Wrong

:expressionless_face: Why? The charger got an upgrade, battery and components in the vehicle are the same.

If it works for certain percentage…let’s say 20% to 60% then it’s understandable that all 2.9kw vehicles won’t support regardless of Generation because they don’t offer that kind of buffer.

Or if components are in the play, then Gen 2 is old but Gen 3 shares same components to newer versions isn’t it?

Cells are different it seems, Let them Open the Mouth :grinning_cat:

I have more interesting things about Future of Ather but Which will kick me Outta here

Then You got the Answer, Even Gen 3-4 might not support the Feature

As I got informed, All the older and existing Ather vehicles can utilize the new Fast Charging 3.0 grids. However, the charging speed will be limited to their current maximum capacity of 3kW.

That’s what I said, Ather Old Gens can’t use 6 kW but The Grid can be used but not 6kW

I have Rizta 3.7 kw. While charging at Ather 6kw grid it took 70 mins to charge from 0 - 80%.

The speed is similar to the 3kw charger.

Just wanted to know if the charging speed is like this only for everyone else or is it just with me.

Not yet they launched 6 kW officially

Currently It gives 3 kW charging experience only

Thanks for clarifying this. Do you know when it will work as 6kw and how you came to know this information as it would be good to know this as initially I thought there is something wrong with grid or my vehicle.

I think vehicle manufactured after August 2025 only support fast charging upto speed of 6kw ,if you want to know if your scooter support 6kw fast charging just call the customer support number and ask the same.6kw charger speed will only be achieved in support scooters

I have raised a ticket and the support did not inform me this but said it’s unusual to take this long to charge and they are checking into this and will let me know once they find the cause.
