This feature might be backward compatible as the controller is made this way. Hope the FW update can enable it.
Or they might require users to upgrade their controllers to ADC from mahle

They would probably limit it to scooters with the new Switch Gear. They ran out of buttons and combinations as we predicted before Gen 3..

But if they could have given ,they will have given early right i guss it may be limited to apex and it may be an hardware upgrade only apex can do it from service center as they are limited in number

This really might be hardware limitations, ADC is Ather Driver Controller. Which Ather has personally developed. So it really might be Mahle problem which did not provide proper parameters.
So yes gen 4 and above might be compatible but might not be for gen 3 and below

No Bro, Ather test things for years. So Early is not a Right way to tell. Maybe Now They have solved all the Bugs. Maybe.
But Apex and a Gen 4&5 have Huge Similarity Bro

Gen 3 4 5 Apex all the same controller, infact Apex uses the full fat ADC from Gen 3 era. Cruise Control was already implemented in Gen 4 but Ather pulled it back because of low quality brake switches.
Why are people forgetting this smh.

Good thing they did, my brake switch broke and now flickers the tail lights and doesnât start the scooter reliably.
Seems they found an interesting solution to this issue.

So Yes, Practically Ather can bring City Cruise 
on Gen 3 and Above but Without Switch Gears in Gen 3
Ather now may bring CC on Gen 4 and Above

Gen 1.5, 5 years now, switch works flawlessly, I donât understand what was screwed up in the BOM room while selecting the quality.
