Does anyone clearly understand why this refund is happening ?
The autocar article states “ordered to refund”. From Jan 1. So what changed on Dec 31 ? Is there a new notification. Or law.
If it is not a violation of any existing law or regulation is it then “voluntary” - because the competitor did so ?
Sure it is nice to get money back, but on the other hand it is stuff i willingly paid for a product from a company i trusted. And it delivers the goods and works just fine
If there is no unfairness or violation (and as far i can see there are none) then i am more concerned with the impact on product development and services than on when my money comes back.
Would be interesting to understand what is happening
I can’t find the government’s order now but under FAME2 subsidy rules the manufacturer has to bundle the charger with the scooter for free to be eligible to get the subsidy amount. How Ather and others got around that rule is by invoicing the charger separately instead of on the same invoice as the scooter.
Google search for the rules to be complied with under FAME 2 subsidy.
If the refund is “ordered” because of a violation then the autocar date of Jan 1 has to be wrong. Or did this invoice separately start only from Jan 1st, No. So something else, but what
I don’t know, that’s why i asked.
From what i know the order does not say anything about the charger. That’s not saying that i am correct, should the disclaimer be required.
This question is already being asked in many other threads. This question is irrelevant in this thread. Please move this question to where it’s relevant
The forum does not operate like social media, fortunately or unfortunately. The users of this forum have always had to (and choose to) abide by rules to maintain decorum and keep it user friendly. Let’s stick to it please.
Sorry you retroactively no longer qualify for the mandated full charger refund, as the government has changed the incentives, we will go for an appeal or petition. But hey get your relatives or friends to buy in.
I don’t understand, the FAME-II subsidy did not make Ather a better scooter, just a bit more affordable.
It remains just as good at what it does, even if the muft ki revdi is not as sweet as before
I would have no reservations in recommending that anyone looking for a fun to ride, performance oriented scooter get it over say a Ntorq or any of the other EVs.
Very interesting. What is this implied additional information “great detail” you claim to have. The company was not giving away money before, they are not now. Anything else ? Specifically what are they doing as a corporate entity that bothers you.
