TPMS is not worth the money - Long term review

I don’t understand why you went for TPMs. You could’ve bought a good portable air filler. Fill the air twice a week and you are good to go.

It’s just waste of money.

Am also facing the same issue in the TPMS. For several days the readings showed same without any change and I got doubt and when I check my tyre pressure in mechanic shop its very low and even after I filled air the TPMS is still showing the same values. Ideally no use of the TPMS. Tomorrow only an going to check this with service centre. Will provide further details soon.

Looks like it’s a Common issue with the TPMS, I had my TPMS installed on March 2023 and my rear TPMS value has been stuck for past few days. After raising the issue with the Service Center, they have confirmed today that the rear TPMS is dead :skull:

Fun fact is that this happened to me after stack 6 and 1st to report in the forum. Many facing same issue only rear tyre for every one. That was weird but TPMS only issue :man_shrugging: spend money for the pair if want readings in dashboard.

Well TPMS is very much useful according to me. Twice it has notified me that my Ather has a puncture just when i was about to travel more than 50 kms. And yes it had puncture both the times.

Tyre inflator is not a substitute for TPMS according to me. Just remember the main job of TPMS is to warn you about dangerous situations.

But the cost proposition using Ather TPMS doesn’t justify the use.

Only benefit we get using is that it keeps you informed no matter where you are. I mean how far you are since it sends data to Ather cloud.

Puncture is not the real use of TPMS because we eventually would know if there is a puncture.

The real use is to warn on Pressure levels since we cannot monitor 24/7. So in that perspective having a third party TPMS with lesser price and more warranty is viable, than using Ather TPMS which by the way the initial TPMS was of TVS make and a direct TVS make would come with 5 year warranty or 3 year warranty which is far better than Ather 1 year warranty

I don’t agree with you. You’re saying this coz you haven’t experienced what a relief it is when it tells you about puncture.

I often travel to places where there is no gas station or puncture shop. Just think what will happen if you climb up a hill only to find out you had a puncture all this time. Coz the tyre doesn’t deflates all of a sudden. It happens slowly and gradually. Being stranded there for 1 or 2 hours and paying for RSA is way too much.

Regarding the price point that might be true. But we all know how Ather is expensive. So this is nothing new.

Expensive but integration with dashboard and Ather app certainly makes it up for cost. With 3rd party TPMS again we to need install another app just to check tyre pressure. Unlike Ather which is nicely integrated and is always on moment you are using ur scooter dashboard and on app.

The biggest design flaw with Ather’s TPMS implementation is, sometimes due to some hardware/software issues if the values were not updated for more than couple of days, it will not provide a warning that the reading are becoming stale.

Other TPMS will show the values along with the last updated date time.

I am using Ather TPMS since its inception so my experience is first hand. But said that every one has their own opinion so not debating on your point of view. My opinion is just my point of view

As I see the TPMS also keeps ua updated on low or high pressure levels and based on low levels it suggests us if to check if there is a possibility of puncture.

As far as I know even other TPMS also do the same. As said in the post just above this and also I mentioned in my post, the benefit I see is only the integration into the app which pushes to cloud and we get info no matter where or how far we are from vehicle. An Ather eco system thing something similar to Apple eco system.

Dude Simple One is still in Sample Level So Comparing it with an EV Gaint Ather will not works

Gave up on relying on tpms. Got it along with vehicle 1.5 yrs back. Not reliable, changed once free of cost under warranty still same issues
