This post is my review of my 4.5 years of experience. Writing has never been my strong suit, So I will briefly explain my experience.
I own Ather Gen 1.5 for the last 4.5 years and clocked 38K on it. But in these 4.5 years I have seen Ather from service going from 10 to 1.
I got my Ather during the COVID period (May 2020). I had my ups and downs with my Ather. Lots of times I fought with SC to rectify my issue. One major issue I faced was due to the wiring harness, where suddenly my battery dropped from 60% to 20% and vehicle would not go beyond 10KMPH. After changing the wiring harness it works as before.
But the biggest disappointment came when I came to know Ather had stopped its MAP service for old gen users. Ather has announced that, the connected feature is free for lifetime for its OG customers but again why it has stopped the service is beyond my understanding. Now if I check with customer care they are asking me to change my vehicle . Again to change my vehicle I have to take back my vehicle to Bangalore (As during covid due to financial issue I have to shift to Bhubaneswar permanently) even though they have multiple showrooms in Bhubaneswar.
If this is happening to my Ather just after 4.5 years then I can imagine what will happen to other gen users once they are old enough for Ather to abandon them.
My take from my Ather experience:- OLA may be looks bad by their quality of service. But Ather is a silent killer. I use to support Ather from the beginning but my trust has been shaken enough to Avoid it in feature.
Itâs really sad to see this happening with the OG supporters of Ather, and even after such a long time Ather has failed to provide a solution for this, seems like theyâve just given up.
This is very true, Ather should be held accountable for this, this should be brought out into the open so that people know that Ather is very much like ola in some aspects. Once this comes out maybe then Ather will care to try giving a resolution on this
I was about to post today regarding my recent experience as well. Maps havenât worked for many months now, dashboard or app. I canât even track where the scooter is thru the app now.
I raised a ticket and was told a fix is expected in September by CC. There is no deadline to deploying the solution. Was assured a call from someone responsible for the solution. Itâs been weeks and nothing.
Now to make matters worse, the scooter app sync on charging has stopped working for the last week. I cannot tell if itâs a real issue or if I should put it on Atherâs âOG 450 is a dinosaurâ list!
I can live with no new features (conveyed within 1.5 years of buying the 450, itâs Windows Phone 7 all over again!). But when did Ather decide on our behalf that itâs ok for our 450s to become a shell of the scooter it used to be??
Ather has become the new OnePlus⊠Similar tread was followed by OnePlus ⊠Initially it was a community driven product , later became money
suckers.
I think we should create a Twitter post and highlight the issue. Because the forum is only used by a few. But twitter can reach many customers. Atleast a viral tweet may wake them to think about their customers.
While my Ather 450X doesnât qualify me to be an OG user, my experience 1 year and 10 months into ownership isint much different. It is indeed sad to see Ather just not ready for customer service needs that come with itâs scale. That they dont have a single company owned service center in a metro (Chennai) defies logic. My vehicle has had an issue for 4 months now that Ather have not been able really fix and only now after countless follow upâs have the service center provided us with a temp vehicle for use while they try to fix the issue. The first time needed me, a total non techie, to isolate the symptom!! And what is worse they donât seem to have a customer service escalation matrix since I have till date not had anyone senior reach out to handle the problem end to end. An endless case of passing the buck between HQ and the franchisee service center! @melvin.wilson@harsh.thakkar
My 10k service was a horrible experience and it was worst nightmare. Now, I am really afraid to give for my 15k service, as it is due now.
Earlier, even if there was a problem, Ather owned service centers had some kind of accountability. Now, the dealership owned service center is completely opposite and I will go there ONLY as an emergency option.
Can anyone help with information on âWhich service center in BLR are Ather ownedâ?
