How to connect to Bluetooth on your Ather 450X (Gen 2 and 3):

If you’re pairing your phone for the first time, follow these steps:

Step 1: Click on the menu icon on the top-left corner of your dashboard.

Step 2: Once you open the menu, tap on the Settings icon right next to Quick Controls.

Step 3: Under Settings, tap on Connectivity and switch on Bluetooth.

Step 4: You’ll find the device name for your Ather right above the Bluetooth icon. You can also rename your scooter.

For eg.,: in the above picture, Kinjal’s scooter is discoverable as Kinjal’s 450X.

Pairing on an iOS device:

If you are pairing an iOS device with your Ather, follow these steps:

a) Under Bluetooth, tap on what your Ather’s Bluetooth name is.

b) A Bluetooth Pairing request will soon appear on the screen. Go ahead and tap on ‘Pair’

c) Another pop-up window will appear, asking you to allow your 450X to receive your device’s notifications. Tap on ‘Allow’.

The device is now paired with your Ather 450X.

You can now access calls and music on your scooter’s dashboard.

Pairing an Android device:

If you are pairing an Android device with your Ather, follow these steps:

a) On the Ather App, tap on the Profile icon on the bottom-right corner of the screen.

b) Once you open your Profile settings, tap on Bluetooth.

c) The Bluetooth Connectivity page will open. Tap on ‘Pair with your scooter’.

d) Now, the device will search for the nearest discoverable Ather.

e) The Bluetooth Pairing request for the same will pop up on the screen. Allow access to contacts and call logs and tap on ‘Pair’.

The device is now paired with your Ather 450X.

You can now access calls and music on your scooter’s dashboard.

Now that your device is paired to the scooter, it will come up under Paired devices.

Connection Troubleshooting:

1) Make sure to follow these instructions:

a) Unpair on both the scooter and the app to ensure proper disconnection of Bluetooth on both devices.

b) Unpair any previous devices with the name 450X to avoid confusion when trying to pair.

c) If you are using an Android device, do not go to the device’s settings to pair with the scooter. Visit settings on the Ather App only to do so.

2) Switch on App permissions:

Ensure that for the Ather App under battery optimization, the ‘Unrestricted’ option is chosen.

To Unrestrict, long press the Ather App until ‘App Info’ appears and tap on it. Tap on ‘Battery’ and then enable ‘Unrestrict’.

Media Control:

After you pair your device with the scooter and play music, it will be displayed on the home screen like so.

Here are the shortcuts to control your music:

1. Next - Start button + Right Indicator

2. Previous - Start button + Left Indicator

3. Pause - Start button + Middle Indicator

Call Control:

Here are the shortcuts to accept or reject calls on the dashboard:

1. To accept an incoming call: Start button + Left Indicator

2. To reject an incoming call: Start button + Right Indicator
