Forgot I was responding from personal account  to which my vehicle is linked

For those who have access, may I recommend checking out the article “The Big E-scooter Battle” in April 2021 edition of Fortune India? Interesting observations on (and from) Ather, Ola Electric and the ecosystem in general

Can someone tell me how Ather 450X and Honda Hornet have the same alleged GVR? Or is it yet another ratings-for-pay scheme? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

That may be in the Motorcycle segment. Ather is in the scooter segment

Interesting! So the ratings are relative, within each category, and not absolute? Because if they compare the emissions and carbon footprint of these two vehicles against each other, there is no way they can be considered equally polluting

Exactly!. This rating makes no sense whatsoever. To put a 4 stroke ICE vehicle in the same league as a BEV with zero tail pipe emissions is absurd.

Precisely! So tomorrow, if some company launches an electric bike, then suddenly the current GVR ratings of Hornet and other bikes will automatically drop, in case it is relative, then? Not very sold on this metric frankly…

And since we are talking of ratings and metrics, this new one is interesting…

Have been seeing a lot of Charzer points coming up in Bengaluru and I think they are doing a great job of expanding across all areas. Need more companies like these to give people some solace on range anxiety and thus encourage them to go electric.

Can somebody do a comparison post of Charzer vs Dot Charger vs Ather portable charger? @Suraj_madhu would like to have your view on this too. :innocent: Been following ur reviews.

Charzer seems to be, just an authenticated Socket, so that shouldn’t change anything. Portable charger would work just as before. And identical to the speeds of the dot. I don’t see the use of these. These are 3.3kW enabled sockets and athers charger can only take 1kW max so an hour of charging would only get your ~35% of battery. Ather grid points are still the way to go for us. Unless we can get a 2/2.5kW portable charger.

I just found out that BESCOM also has a couple of charging points in Bangalore. They’re usually in their offices. I saw one when I went to enquire about a power failure. The chsrging station looked pretty good, it had 4 ports I think, but it was turned off.

Can we charge our ather using the bescom charger

Yeah, I’d heard that, and hopefully Ather can be charged there too.

Ahem… What is this new design we are getting to hear of, Ather?

This would be the 450 lite version that a lot of folks wanted. Might end up competing in the Non-connected EV segment
