Charging profile: Grid vs Home

Has anyone seen a charging profile comparison of Ather grid vs home charging? A table or graph that shows the time difference by SoC levels - sample illustration below:

  • SoC……………Grid (minutes)…… Home (minutes)
  • 00% to 10%…………5………………… 38
  • 10% to 20%…………6…………………40
  • 20% to 30%…………7…………………42
  • 90% to 100%……….15…………………60

Would appreciate if anyone can point to the forum link if this is available.

My Ather dosent actually slow down after 90%. It charger at a constant speed. Is it normal @abhishek.balaji ?

Even my Ather charges from 0-100 or close to that in four hours. I earlier thought something’s wrong because the specified charging time is 5 hours or so. But after consultation with the staff at Indore EC, they said that their vehicles also get charged within 4 hours.

Yes!! 4 hours

What i observed is in the mid range from 20% to 80% it charges 25% for 1 hour so 50% for 2 hours, 100% for ~4 hours. One more thing is it takes 10mins to go from 100% to Charging completed 100% i.e, dot charger’s fan turning off.

I think this is the maximum time, it mainly depends on the temperature. If i ride my Ather aggressively in the hot sun and immediately if i charge it after the ride in direct sunlight, it takes more time to charge than usual.

Backing with experiment. This was an overnight charging. Daytime charging might be a different number.

Hit 0%. Scooter is still running. Rode 200 m or so before taking this pic

Got around 500 m more after hitting 0%. Time is 11:10 PM. Took 5 minutes to put the scooter to charge.

25% charge exactly at 12:15, one hour later

Overshot a bit on taking this. Time is now 1:30 AM and charge is 58%

Charged to 75% in 3 hours

98% charge in 4 hours

4 hours 15 minutes, and I get charge complete notification

With some data on grid charging - added city and highway grid columns - seems all grids don’t charge at same rate. @acorreya - thanks for home charging data. Added data for highway grid - used a grid on highway (Chouk - rural area but 2.0 grid), and found that highway grid was slightly slower than city grids - first called out by @viral_champ. Chouk grid charged approx 1% every minute till 80% when it slowed more. My experience of city grids (validated at Emerald Resort - 1.0 grid at Talegaon) is they charge about 1.5% per minute. Is this difference a configuration thing or voltage thing - not sure.

SoC City Grid(min) Rural Grid(min) Home(min)
00% to 10% 7 10 24
10% to 20% 7 10 24
20% to 30% 7 10 24
30% to 40% 7 10 24
40% to 50% 7 10 24
50% to 60% 7 10 24
60% to 70% 7 10 24
70% to 80% ? 15 ?
80% to 90% ? 30 ?
90% to 100% ? ? ?
